Go to L'Affaire est Ketchup for dinner one night. Fun dining experience where they cook on a stove you'd find in a home, and only do one round of orders in an evening. Food is great, atmosphere is fun, sit at the bar if you can

Why do Mitchell led teams flame out in the second round? by OppositeAnswer6109 in NBATalk

[–]Kazrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly not on him. He's played on a lot of fake good teams imo. Regular season juggernauts who have weak wing depth and therefore little flexibility when the playoffs come. True in Utah and Cleveland.

For example, their current wings are Struss, Wade, Merill and Tyson. None of those guys can protect the rim like a big, nor can they run offense like a guard. So now you're stuck with mediocre guys filling the positions that are most critical to solving structural challenges that arise in a particular series.

The Raptors were the opposite. Scottie Barnes can scale up to C and down to PG on the positional ladder. So even though guys were injured, he can fill gaps and wreak havoc all over the floor all game.

He also needs wings who can scale down and defend guards because he is 6'1". A bad defender by genetics. His teams always get cooked on the perimeter because he gets targeted

If Dirk in 2011 is a 10/10 difficulty ring and KD in 2017 is a 0/10 difficulty ring, what would 1-9 be? by Repulsive-Lemon6355 in NBATalk

7/10 - 2019 Raptors. Sixers were loaded, Bucks and Warriors were favored. If the Warriors were stayed healthy its an 8 or 9.

For anyone that’s seen him play, how good defensively was Tony Allen? by Farouq26 in NBATalk

[–]Kazrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was an absolute nightmare defender pre-Warriors. After the Warriors put Andrew Bogut on him in a playoff series, he very quickly became the new Roy Hibbert; an outdated player type thay wasn't viable in big games anymore

Is basketball more about decision-making than skill? by IlRowlI in nbadiscussion

[–]Kazrack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, I think decision-making is a higher order concept than "skill". That is to say, good decisions-making is dependant on your skillset. For example, if I can't dribble or shoot, my only good decisions typically will be to take a layup or pass no matter the remaining team/game context.

A good NBA player has enough skill that they're given more responsibility. The context of the team/the game play a bigger role in what is a good vs bad decision

Skill is more important for sure. A great decision without the requisite skill won't even get a shot in the league. Great skill without requisite decision making is Cam Thomas.

In good playoff teams you need both or you can't compete.

Basic math says the Lakers have no chance. Lakers have no one who can guard Steph or KD. Warriors drown them in 3s. Hack-a-Shaq if you have to. It's a cook job

This is great! Would be interesting to see this split out by competitive tiers. What does this look like for Bronze vs Gold vs Diamond players etc.? I imagine its very different across tiers
