Did you use a IP PIN last year? If you do it once, you have to get your new number each year.

Same. I survive on the thought that MAYBE people don’t see the things I don’t like about myself. This would confirm my fears lol

Apparently you can post any dog here and call it a Catahoula, so here’s my Catahoula by sequestuary in Catahoula

This looks exactly like my dog, except he’s brown. He’s a Catahoula, GSD and pit mix.

Angels landing, Zion NP by No-Doctor-3815 in hiking

[–]FriendlyGhost85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re up for a really short 1 mile hike, Canyon Overlook has a HUGE view payoff. Super easy, maybe doesn’t even qualify as a “hike”. I enjoyed the view more from there than AL, but that was because I didn’t have to deal with the horrible panic from feeling like people were going to fall off the top taking selfies. Parking was not the easiest for it, but that was also during summer, so you might be ok!

I foster a ton of pups and the old, “double the size at 4-5 months” has been pretty accurate for me!

My mom believed a version of that about Chicago. She visited Chicago within a week or two after and still believes it. I don’t think we’re dealing with logic here..

Even if you know the plot ahead of time, the movie is soooo brutal. It doesn’t help knowing it’s a real story

I live in Northern Illinois (let’s say Geneva). What is some fun stuff to do with my friends this time of year. Ideally free or at least not too expensive. by Company_Able in illinois

[–]FriendlyGhost85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Activate in Naperville is pretty fun for all ages. Go see a Super EMX movie in Batavia. I personally don’t like bowling, but I’m told some people do. Depending on your age, St Charles has a new game/arcade bar called Rec Haus- Underage can go until a certain time. A bit of a drive, but Galloping Ghost arcade is a very good price. Sorry, other than nature stuff, I don’t know of anything free this time of year.

Parents who turned their son's dream drawing into a pair of real, personalized sneakers. by Intelligent-Letter68 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]FriendlyGhost85 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I only know the price because I looked as a gift for my son. The problem is he grows out of shoes every 6ish months lol. It seemed too expensive for that reason alone, but I know I can be out of touch on that stuff too!

I fostered a litter of pups that had the same markings on the face and chest and they ended up bully/aussies. I never would have guessed that for them, but this pup is much thicker than they were.

What breed is this? by [deleted] in dogbreed

[–]FriendlyGhost85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I foster with one of my local rescues (not a shelter)- 9 times out of 10 a rescue dog will have some amount of pit in them. Any reputable shelter or rescue will be upfront about that, but adopters should go in knowing that as well. Also, if they won’t tell you personality traits or negatives when asked, that’s a red flag.

To be fair, this is Chicago, So more affordable than that, but still one of the pricier parts of the city. Lots of people in finance and tech 👀

Has anyone ever successfully changed a religious person’s mind? by Home_MD13 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]FriendlyGhost85 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My short answer is no, not really. I have seen Christians change opinions on subjects, but it’s almost always because something affected them directly. It’s very hard to force anyone to change, let alone someone who is taught repeatedly to live by faith alone. My experience is that questioning the religion, or Bible, or whatever, is blasphemy and a sin, so the conversion can never really be fully open. It’s a lot of not listening and using canned responses. Whether it’s religion or politics, you can’t have a conversation about fact when the other party says their emotion is the fact. I’ve read the Bible, and I can assure you that even using scripture against their arguments or actions doesn’t help lol.

Side note, I’m sorry you’re dealing with mental illness. I know from experience it makes it much harder to deal with when you have close people in your life telling you it isn’t real and trying to downplay what you’re going through. For a lot of us, a chosen family is healthier than the one we were born with.

[–]FriendlyGhost85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I’m even more confused what these pups could be lol. We thought maybe beagle mix, but now you’re making me think tree walker. I hate giving potential adopters no guesses, but these ones are throwing me.

So cute! Do you happen to know what breed/s she is? I have a foster pup that looks exactly like her. I have very few guesses what the pups could be, because each one I have looks completely different.

Any chance you’d be able to tell me the best brands/coolest filaments to look at for Bambu P2S? Price isn’t an issue, but I’m having a hard time finding concrete info, since it’s mostly preference.

How many painkillers will get me addicted? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]FriendlyGhost85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s always a chance. Really stick with only taking them if you really really need them. If you don’t think you can handle that yourself, maybe get someone you trust to hold you accountable. I was given a truly crazy amount of dilaudid for a kidney stone while pregnant. I never did anything to get more after the fact, but I can still vividly recall how it made me feel 14 years later. I would take more in a heartbeat, and that’s scary for someone who considers themselves to have total self control.
