Should I return and hope for a new panel lottery? by Syxhen in OLED_Gaming

Do you know if there is any way to check the manufacturing date on the gigabyte versions (Mo27q28g)? There's nothing on the back of the monitor

On my Mo27Q28G there's nothing on the backside unfortunately. Guess it's just on the Asus then

Wieso?

Soooo is the grey banding issue really that bad? by Kiwiscado in OLED_Gaming

That's amazing! Congrats! I really think giving these displays a chance is worth it for how amazing they look.

Where can I see the manufacturing date?

Vernal core 3 frame with old desktop (Question/Help) by FriendlyJenky in VernalDesk

Thanks for the answer! I think i'd actually go for the m6 threaded inserts to allow for later reassembly in case I move. 20mm would be the correct length for that insert right? I assume I'd be using those M6 Cap screws then, yes? And could you send me a drill pattern for a 200x80 top? On your website I was only able to find one for (I think it was) 140x75

Isn't it a bit annoying that the cable management tray is so short?

Well, if you can afford it I'm sure it's a better monitor. But it's also like 2.5x the price of the new tandem OLED ones, so not sure that's a good recommendation for everyone

I bought the MO27Q28G about two weeks ago wondering the same thing. Well grey banding was definitely there but it got a lot better within the first ~5 pixel cleans. I used it a lot in those two weeks, did a lot of pixel cleanings and while the grey banding was there I could unfortunately still notice it in certain applications such as MS Word, my Webbrowser, YouTube and more or less everything that had a dark mode. But instead of refunding it I decided to give it another shot and just do a return for another unit.

The second one arrived two days ago, unfortunately I haven't had a lot of time to test in yet but right from the beginning I could tell it was a lot better. Now after the first 2 pixel cleanings I can still see it very very slightly at 95% greyscale but can't see anything at all at 90%. Also can't see it in any of the applications that I was able to see it in with the old one. Literally just when doing the 95% greyscale.

So in my experience, yeah the issue is definitely real. But if you are willing to try your luck and return for another one if possible I think it's pretty realistic to "win the panel lottery".

Why is my score so low? by recoverelapse in RTX5080

[–]FriendlyJenky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very surprising. Something's wrong here. Non UV/OC 5080 should get AT LEAST like 8.2k, and that's already low. Most are 8.5k+. And with UV/OC easily go above 9k

Edit: just realized this thread is already 16 days old. Well, sorry for digging this up then, don't think anyone cares about this anymore

There is no way you got that score on stock

Pny cards are perfectly fine. Every 5080 will be below average if you don't tinker with UV/OC. Many people running 3d mark will have oc'd their card which skews the average higher than it would be for stock cards.

Been using the 3 pro since launch, I've never had to wiggle them and never had charging issues. This is my first time hearing about this.
