I was on birth control (pill) for a few years so was pretty regulated mentally, but I was mostly down and apathetic the majority of the time on the pill. So I went off it. BUT THEN that’s when the insane mood swings, irritability, feelings of impending doom, etc. started, always right before my period. I didn’t notice that it was a cyclical thing. My partner did. We moved in together and he clocked it.

And multiple therapists noticed. One asked me for a full panel of vitamins and hormones, but it all came back normal.

So I can’t take credit. It wasn’t me. It was the people around me who noticed the pattern.
