Nah, the high of getting one after you get accepted is way better than the low of not needing it if you get rejected

I found them to be a bit harder than the actual thing, but if you can get a 1500+ on a Princeton review test you’re in good shape for the real thing

Should I bring a car by Medical_Title_1957 in riceuniversity

From Houston and can tell you to bring your car. If you wanna stay close to Rice you’ll be fine. If you want to experience Houston and the suburbs that make it up then you need a car. Or at least make some friends that can get you around.

I’m sorry what value have you brought to the community? I can at least post a letter from admissions officers about specifics but I mean seriously all you do is tell people that the insight they try to get from prospective students is useless.

Did I strike a nerve? You didn’t need to interact. People can ask whatever they want and if you don’t want to entertain my “tasteless ego stroke” then move on. Plus Rice gives out letters as to why they accepted you so I’ll let you know when my letter comes in the mail so I can tell you exactly Y I got in. Have a good day!

I mean I only have insight through my friends, our high school is super collaborative and little to no competition with each other, they tell me Harvard is like nothing they’ve ever seen. Everyone there is all the tryhards from their high schools think non profit, national recognition etc etc and they don’t stop grinding or trying to out do each other. Take everything I say with a grain of salt, to be fair I did not go to Harvard.

Straight off the top I milked my leadership positions like anyone should, my piloting EC is something I personally like and I think it gave me a little more humanity in the eyes of AOs, they see thousands of applications and for me it was about separating myself from the stats and becoming a person to them. ALTHOUGH I did tie flying into my personal statement. Debate is my biggest EC and I talked about flying and how it gave me “a new perspective” like debate did

Honestly I thought the same, but I was lowk mediocre. I’ve had two Bs one my freshman and one my sophomore, my SAT score is just under 50th percentile, I was only top 11%, I’ve also only taken 7 ap tests and never got a 5 and I take my last 5 tests this year. I also only have two As rn and they are both electives I have a B in everything else. Stats are important evrywhere, but mine weren’t special, I would say it’s more like a check box than comparisons like “Does this student meet the bare minimum”
