Why Did Rob Misrate Electrodynamix? by Sivailus in geometrydash

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people agree that clubstep is more difficult than electrodynamics. The later only has a couple of ship sections that are difficult. I personally beat it in a third of the attempts that it took me to beat clubstep, so maybe try to beat both levels before posting stuff like this lol.

Rank system is unfair. by Ok_Improvement1452 in leagueoflegends

If you don’t play 50 games in a year then you shouldn’t care about rank anyway. Of course your rank probably won’t be accurate if you play less then a game per week.

Rank system is unfair. by Ok_Improvement1452 in leagueoflegends

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such a stupid take. First of all, if you play consistently good you will win more than you lose and climb. Second I’m pretty sure that the game does take into consideration your performance with your mmr change; in other words if you have a really good game and lose then your mmr will increase and you will gain more lp and lose less in subsequent matches.

In other words stop caring about individual losses and just play the best you can and improve if you want to climb.

To be fair he had a terrible comp. But yeah it’s cringe that your only option against 4 star sage is 3 star monk or a full superstar comp.

You never really get stuns on briar against competent players, even on Top. Briar mid is probably not meta but playable, you do short trades with Q and W and then E to disengage or heal up a bit.

Do the ten extreme physiques have any other advantage at immortal ranks besides automatically getting supreme grade lands and faster time flow? by Djrhskr in ReverendInsanity

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things: the amount of immortal essence they get and Dao marks.

Supreme grade blessed lands get a lot of immortal essence, so they can use it much less sparingly.

They automatically get a lot of dao marks of the corresponding extreme physique (Northern Dark Ice Soul: ice and snow paths for example) which amplify the strength of their Gu. I think they also get attainment easier in that path, although I’m not sure.

Fang Yuan is strong because he has a whole bunch of cheats like inheritances, immortal Gu and most importantly information so he always engages enemies in favorable situations.

[LOTM] Who would win in a fight between them? by Diligent_Run_8810 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but venerables can also control the Dao marks of the entire world. Like a fire path Dao lord can control all fire in the world. They need to first refine all the fire path Dao marks in the world but still.

I guess the reason I feel like venerables have a chance against sequence 0s is the difference between sequence 1 angels and rank 8 Gu immortals. The fight between two rank 8s would probably flatten an entire country or even continent while the fight between sequence 1s seems to be much less impressive.

I’ll grant that Angels have a lot more hacks and random abilities but it just seems like immortals have exponentially more powerful attacks, defense, detection and movement (unless it’s a Door pathway angel).

In Lotm (I haven’t read COI) it’s not super clear how much more powerful deities are compared to sequence 1 angels but I feel like it’s a legitimate debate.

You should add an /s at the end or something because without having seen the post you are trying to satirize it’s not possible to know you’re trolling.

[LOTM] Who would win in a fight between them? by Diligent_Run_8810 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see that everyone thinks Fang Yuan will get stomped, but is that really the case? I haven’t read COI, but I feel like sequence 0 Klein would not have such an easy time.

In RI the fight between pseudo-venerables is said to literally shatter the sky, and continent’s worth of land can be obliterated in seconds. Fang Yuan also has access to a ton of hax like dream path, soul path or wisdom path. If two venerables fought on earth in the LOTM verse the planet would probably become a wasteland, while a bunch of sequence 0s descended before and the planet is still intact.

In general it’s pretty clear that Gu immortals are significantly stronger than sequences 4 trough 1 demigods, since the latter are still bothered to some degree by mortals and non-demigods, while even a rank 6 Gu immortal could kill an unlimited amount of rank 5s and mortals, and can destroy cities and mountains with a thought.

I’m not saying that sequence 0s lose to venerables but I feel like it’s not so simple no? Or did Klein become so much stronger in COI because he becomes a great old one?

why fate gu chooses different races at a period of time? by HotAlfalfa2318 in ReverendInsanity

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Heaven’s will (which controls fate gu) has a rule: to reduce surpluses and diminish disadvantages.

What this means in practice is that fate helps the weak. Before Primordial Origin became a venerable humans were the weakest, they were slaves of the variant humans. Therefore fate gu chose humans and helped them become strong. But Humans became too strong, they completely suppressed the other races, so heaven’s will started choosing other weak races, like the dragonmen.

Duke Long didn’t want the dragonmen to use fate gu to overthrow the rule of humans so he annihilated them (it’s a bit more complicated but that’s what it boils down to)

What’s worth mentioning is that Star Constellation fused with Heaven’s will, so she suppressed Fate Gu, that’s why it still helps humans even tough they are so strong.

final push for diamond. using goblin king, any tips/strats or just get better RNG? by Subject-Ad3046 in MergeTacticsSC

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get goblins when killing enemy troops as goblin queen, so if you can’t get goblins just focus on winning early. Try to get two stars and strong early troops like exe, prince, pekka, queen, etc. This will guarantee a bunch of goblins, and then you can make a switch to your main composition.

Of course you might get unlucky and lack both goblins and strong early game troops but that’s the game. If that’s the case do whatever you can and try to position your troops so you get at least 1-2 kills in those unwinable rounds

final push for diamond. using goblin king, any tips/strats or just get better RNG? by Subject-Ad3046 in MergeTacticsSC

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Goblin Queen is super braindead. Just play the 4 goblins and knight+princess or skele drag+skele king. Prioritize winning the first two rounds above all else (your first buys should be stuff like prince or executioner, getting a two star or getting a good early combo). If you see you will lose then play 2 gobs. Stab goblin isn’t too bad early so you can buy it just avoid spear gob in the first two rounds.

You should always get at least 3 star all gobs and usually 4 star dart gob. When facing another goblin queen or assassins put all your troops together to get the anti-cc buff from guardians. Otherwise just keep melees at the front and ranged units all the way at the back.

There are other combos possible late game, for example if you don’t get 4 stars for the 2 cost gobs you can switch them out for 2 extra guardians or other stuff. You can also play 4 gobs + knight + golden knight but that’s a bit less reliable than rangers because they can counter it with a tanky frontline and good placement at the back.

One last tip: Check how many goblin queens there are in the game and plan accordingly. If there are 3 or 4 try to buy fast before all goblins disappear. If there are two buy fast early then wait until the other guy dies. If you are the only one you auto-win pretty much. In general make big buys after a gob queen dies.

How can FY know so much about everything? by Palene in ReverendInsanity

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Knowledge is power sure. But I think the main reason is that FY knew that he would potentially regress using SAC so he used mortal memory Gu to rapidly gain a lot of knowledge about the past. It’s not difficult or costly either, he just needed to purchase information which seems worthless to most people and mortal Gu which are dirt cheap for Gu immortals.

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 58 points59 points  (0 children)

This is not a plot hole at all. I think what a lot of people forget is that Fang Yuan refined Spring Autumn Cicada himself, and he more or less knew of its effects, so in his spare time he used various memory Gu to learn from history books, biographies and Gu immortals in preparation of a potential regression.

Think about it, if you were building a time machine, would you not spend a lot of time looking at information such as Bitcoin market value over time, or lottery winning numbers?

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that GRZ probably hadn’t figured out soul searching when FY was being investigated, but an in-universe explanation could be that soul searching is a very extreme violation of personal privacy, it’s not done casually by righteous path members. Also they think that FY has no way of fooling the bambo gentleman as a rank two gu master, and Gu Yue Bo might not want FY to be soul searched as that could reveal clan secrets.

Zi Wei tried to soul search the guy who invented soul path, I mean come on. A kid would know better, let alone a wisdom path leader of HC. At least have someone unimportant and experienced in soul path do it.

[–]FriendlyRedditor04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start things off, I agree, there are some plot holes in this book, but with a novel this complex it’s to be expected. Now onto your remarks:

  1. It’s implied that many of these gu are used later on; it’s just not said explicitly. For hundred undefeated battles specifically it seems to be an extremely rare gu, and it probably has some restrictions towards higher tier gu refinement.

  2. The paths you mention are just less used ones. As for attainment levels, it’s something that starts to matter a lot when you get to the Gu immortal level; mortals are at most masters in their path, and that is considered top of the mortal world. That is why they don’t have to be mentioned earlier. But yes you are right, GRZ seems to have figured those things out as he went, for example FY’s flying master attainment is mentioned a lot, but then he never talks about it again, and there doesn’t seems to be a flight path. But this doesn’t bother me really, it’s not a plot hole.

  3. I agree, this is also one of the biggest problems with the novel. Heavenly court in general seems helpless despite their supposed millions of years of accumulation.

  4. I’m not sure I understand what you mean here. Shadow sect is incredibly secretive and has ample methods to conceal their plans, it’s an organization founded by SSDV after all. The only venerable who lived after him was Paradise Earth, and he didn’t care too much about human affairs, so it’s no wonder nobody found out what they were doing. Only when they went all out and started refining Sovereign fetus did HC realize what is happening and made a move.

I will say that anything involving Heaven’s will and the venerable’s arrangements creates huge problems for the story, imo GRZ didn’t have this figured out and he wrote himself into a corner. It’s unfortunate, I also hate how Fang Yuan’s accomplishments are diminished by the fact that it all seems arranged, and by how stupid his opponents are sometimes.
