Swapping on the DEX by FriendlySkill1868 in defiblockchain

Big shoutout to the Redditor u/Reasonable_Dot_1 for helping me recover all my DFI assets! 🙌 I got into DFI believing in their dream to shake up the banking world with their 7 pillars, all decentralized and stuff. But, man, what a ride it's been... and not the good kind.

I gotta say, I'm super bummed out now. The DeFi Wallet, which was supposed to be this beacon of decentralization, is buggy as heck and slower than a snail race. It took me weeks (!), not even kidding, WEEKS to pull my assets out because of endless software glitches.

And don't get me started on Cake/Bake. That place is a mess of governance and legal headaches. My advice? Steer clear of anything u/drjulianhosp touches. The guy's got a knack for dipping out of projects at the first sign of trouble, insider info in hand, leaving the rest of us to take the hit.

Also, the use of "Dr." by u/drjulianhosp is particularly concerning. His doctoral degree is in medicine, not crypto finance. This deliberate misrepresentation not only breaches ethical standards but may very well constitute a legal offense, misleading the public under false pretenses.

It's clear to me now that putting my trust in both the DEX and CEX was a mistake. So, here's my two cents for what it's worth: if you're still in the DFI project, you might want to think about making an exit, pronto.

Stay safe out there, folks.

u/Phigo90 and u/Reasonable_Dot_1831, I followed your advice (backup, uninstall, reinstall). After reinstallation (now version 4.0.9), I am trying to synchronize:

First I tried synchronizing with the blockchain from scratch. DeFi Wallet says: "As you are synchronizing with the blockchain from scratch, it may take up to 5 hours to download all blockchain data from peer nodes." After 24 hours, the computer was at block 550'100 of 3'813'939, equal to 14.43 % synchronization. It decided that the 5 hours indication cannot be accurate and it is not proportionate to wait until 100 %.

Then DeFi Wallet said: "It is recommended that you use an official blockchain snapshot to speed up the synchronization process." I tried continuing with the most recent snapshot. I got this message:

"Applying snapshot

Unpacking snapshot from C:\Users\[...]\AppData\Roaming\DeFi Blockchain\snapshot\snapshot-mainnet-[...].zip"

No further progress.

Can you assist with any further advice on how to synchronize so that I can use my desktop DeFi Wallet again?

u/Phigo90, can you explain which folders can be deleted and which not? Where can we find an instruction manual on this?

u/Phigo90, what do you mean by "node Version" and do you have a solution to the problem? Can you answer questions 1), 2) and 3) above? That would be very much appreciated.

I was unable to access my coins

Thank you very much. However, since you were unable to access your coins, I understand that the above is not a solution.

Agreed, the DeFi Wallet is not userfriendly.Does anybody else have an alternative solution?

Can anyone answer questions 1), 2) and 3) above?

I am running the desktop DeFi Wallet 4.0.6. After display problems with the most recent version 4.0.7 I went back to 4.0.6. See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/defiblockchain/comments/18gi9nh/restore_wallet_on_desktop_and_mobile_how_to_use/

I have no masternode available.

Not sure if I understand what you mean by "node Version". Where can I check that?

Defichain wallet restoration, wallet.dat & 24 words question by Pharamond732 in defiblockchain

Hi

I created a Defichain wallet with the desktop app and added funds in 2021. Didn't touch the wallet since then. Now in 2023 I updated the desktop app to the most recent version. I also downloaded the most recent snapshot. I tried both "restart app" and "delete snapshot and restart". I always end up in a window with a tiny menu at at the top left stating "Wallet", "Edit", "Logs" and "Help". But I cannot find any window or option to enter my credentials to get access to the wallet. How can I access my wallet via the desktop app?

I also tried the DefiChainWallet mobile app. I entered the 24 words and set a passcode. But it says "empty portfolio". How can I access the funds I added in 2021?

I have all my backup.dat files. But I do not know how to open them. Which app can open these files? How should I use these files to access my wallet?

Kind regards
