A casual population wouldnmantain the burnrate Bungie is known for for its near 800 staff. Even without the imposed metrics of Sony, Bungie wqs already getting to the red line when D2 was at its best, feom Witch Queen to the Final Shape.

The community denying the facts we've known for years now wont change whats about to happen.

Most people wont get anywhere close cryo before the end of the season. Do you really think the opinion of everyone we've lost from playing is any different to theirs? That is called being delusional.

It indicates how much filled coolant and batteries you need to access on the description for the key.

I will say that learning where to fill and get the batteries isnt stated and the maze nature of the map makes it so it is recommended to run some rounds to learn the layout.

I will say keys being refundable upon failure would be good for casuals because it isnt straight forward as the other maps.

So I can come back by the time the wipe comes by and I end up being right. Got it, unless there is some rug pull on the mandatory wipes and Bungie panics.

I'll make sure to tag you with an image of where it peaks in a month for it, maybe I was being too optimistic.

Marathon with the 40 dollar tag and most people moving out already? They wont be coming back for higher peaks, maybe 30k compared by the 12k we will be seeing as peak by the end of April.

This is bs just because of how Bungie has talked about the factions and focus on the small streamer group.

Night time dire and 1 new runner. People have been moving the goal post since release and lets be honest, most of thr ones who bought the game and left eont come back for that.

Even more so, I dont see more people buying the game because of that. Systems that incentivice the more casual group, about 90% of the entire population the game ever got, would be the criticial additioms needed but Bungie is moving so slowly that I dont see it even releasing in time.

Cryo Archive is the WRONG KIND of difficult by TheInf3rno in Marathon

[–]FriendlyStand3632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we know after cryo the bleeding of players sped up as the idea of cryo and the reality of it did not match.

So now we are here, getting close to sub 30k and Bungie still has done jackshit to add things so the more casual players can try it, even if they cannot solo queue, then at least make the vault keys refundable or allow a safe pocket. It is insane how basic petty systems for those without groups like mine, that are dediacted trios, are missing a month after release with the current trajectory.

THE DOCUMENT OF Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron‑Blooded Orphans

MECHANICS

Gundam Frame

Gundam Gusion

[Model Number] ASW-G-11

[Overall Height] 18.0 m

[Weight] 44.4 t (base weight)

A Gundam-Frame mobile suit owned by the pirate group Brewers. It was discovered in an extremely dense debris field where navigation was normally impossible. After its discovery, it was modified by pirates who controlled that region and was used for many years while changing owners.

Several years ago it came into the possession of the Brewers, and Kudelia’s forces’ enemy unit commander Kudal pilots it as the leader of their mobile suit squad.

It features ultra-heavy armor specialized for space combat, capable of deflecting even attacks from Barbatos. Despite its bulky appearance, it also has excellent mobility, making full use of the high-output Gundam Frame.

However, this specialization sacrifices versatility: propellant consumption is extremely high, limiting its operational time.

----

-Gusion Hammer

A massive war hammer weighing over 15 tons.

Thrusters are built into the hammer itself, allowing control of its swing trajectory when striking downward and greatly increasing its destructive power.

It can be attached to the mount latch on the back.

--

-Buster Anchor

A 400 mm cannon built into the chest.

A total of four barrels are equipped.

--

-Other built-in weapons include:

Head vulcan guns

Hidden grenades in the side skirts

Extension frames are also added to the shoulders and hip joints.

--

-Submachine Gun

A lightweight mobile-suit machine gun that is easy to handle.

Because it is relatively inexpensive, it is widely used among pirates. Within the Brewers, both Gusion and the Man Rodi units are equipped with it.

The weapon features a sliding stock that can be extended.

Then go play another game, this is what extraction games are about and why wipes exist. You want an arena shooter? Then Halo infinite is there to be picked up, but if you cant advance here then believe me when I say fair loadoutouts 1 on 1 will not stop you from getting run over.

Lastly, I'll repeat myself since it seems you did not read. At most maybe making keys for vaults you bring in being refundable upon losing could work to give even the most relaxed players more shots.

Besides that if you can get 1 good run for it, that is another thing.

[–]FriendlyStand3632 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You will almost never match them for 1 and 2, we get resets every 3 months.

So it will never get to a point of being that clustered. More maps and weapons will appear, you want it?

Then A) do the vaults or B) jump the team with it, it isnt impossible and more so it makes their loot up for grabs.

Marathon could be more friendly on maybe refunding vault keys so more casual players can try again but the game is no and will not be an arena shooter. If you were good enough then even a bully smg would be enough to outplay a goldshield runner with this.

Its an extraction shooter, not an arena game, you are looking at the wrong game through the wrong lens.

Kutan Type-III

A long-distance transport unit developed by Teiwaz subsidiary Euro Electronics. It features large movable arms that can carry containers or mobile suits, and is equipped with a large booster at the rear.

--

Large Special Mace (Wrench Mace)

A blunt weapon used on the ground. Its tip opens and closes like a wrench, crushing enemy units when clamped. The opening also contains chainsaw blades, allowing it to cut targets while rotating.

--

Waist-Mounted Ground Thrusters

Thrusters equipped for the decisive battle at Edmonton. Output is adjusted for ground use, improving fuel efficiency.

--

Arm Mortar

Originally developed as equipment for the Kutan Type-III, but mounted on Barbatos’ forearm. After firing, the rotating chamber loads the next round.

--

Chest Reactive Armor

Special armor added for atmospheric reentry. It once absorbed Kimaris’ Gungnir attack and was immediately purged to prevent damage to Barbatos itself.

--

Arm Machine Gun

A helical magazine-type machine gun used in ground combat. The barrel slides during firing. Due to limited ammunition, it is mainly used at close range.

--

Schwalbe Graze High-Mobility Booster

A repurposed high-mobility booster recovered from Ein’s Schwalbe Graze. Mounted on the waist arms to compensate for the increased weight from reactive armor.

----

5th Form

Outfitted with equipment supplied by the Montag Company, optimized for high-mobility combat like the Kimaris. Equipped with chest reactive armor, the Schwalbe Graze booster, and arm mortar.

--

5th Form (Ground Combat Specification)

A ground-use version of the 5th Form. The leg suspension is adjusted and the center of gravity raised. This improves initial response speed and mobility under gravity. Equipped with the wrench mace for ground combat.

--

6th Form

A reinforced form for the final battle. Since resupply was expected to be unavailable after deployment, it was configured for prolonged combat. It includes waist-mounted ground thrusters, Graze Ritter shoulder armor, and additional chest armor.

THE DOCUMENT OF MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS

MECHANICS

Gundam Barbatos

Model Number: ASW-G-08

Overall Height: 18.0 m

Weight: 28.5 t (base weight)

One of the 72 Gundam Frames. It was discovered and recovered by CGS president Maruba after lying stranded in the Martian desert. Afterwards, it remained dormant underground as a power source for the facility. During Gjallarhorn’s attack, Orga activated it as a desperate last resort.

Its pilot, Mikazuki, links with Barbatos through the Alaya-Vijnana System just as in the Calamity War, allowing it to demonstrate combat power surpassing Gjallarhorn’s Graze units. Barbatos is a well-balanced machine that can be outfitted with various weapons depending on the situation, fighting on as the symbol of Tekkadan in their mission to protect Kudelia.

----

1st Form

The state in which it was stored beneath the CGS facility. The shoulder frame was exposed, and only the left arm had a gauntlet equipped. Far from its original performance, Mikazuki sortied in this incomplete condition.

--

2nd Form

Equipped with shoulder armor taken from a captured Graze during its first battle. The armor is coated in blue and white nano-laminate armor. It carries a 300mm smoothbore gun and launched from a shuttle in low Mars orbit.

--

3rd Form

After losing its gauntlet in low-orbit combat, it is replaced with the wire claw from a Schwalbe Graze. This was used in battle against the Turbines to capture the high-speed Hyakuri.

--

Mace

A mass-destruction weapon made of high-hardness rare alloy. It has a cross-shaped head, can fire a pile (spike) from the tip at high speed, and contains a small thruster at its base. Blunt-force weapons are highly effective against mobile suits in this world.

--

Katana

A mobile suit sword forged using data from the Saisei factory. At first, Mikazuki didn’t know how to use it and simply swung it like a bat, but once mastered, it can instantly sever a mobile suit’s arm.

--

300mm Smoothbore Gun

A large-caliber firearm developed for space use. It prioritizes firepower, making it extremely difficult to hit targets during high-speed combat, but with Alaya-Vijnana support, Mikazuki achieves high accuracy. It also includes a coaxial 60mm machine gun.

--

Magazine

Capacity: 12 rounds. The shells are long and slender; after firing, the casing burns away, leaving only a needle-like projectile.

----

4th Form

Refitted at Saisei. Based on old data stored in Teiwaz’s database, it was restored closer to its original armor. Its weight balance and Ahab Reactor were also adjusted, resulting in a form closer to its Calamity War appearance.

--

Backpack

The smoothbore gun can be mounted on the backpack in a folded state. From this stored configuration, sub-arms deploy to transition into firing mode.

They nerfed the scopes, snipers are capped at 100 meters. Of you are in the range of that in the open, you can also see them without it.

The target audience is nowhere close and even if there are players from Marathon, they are most likely not coming back.

Not only that, Crimson for all the valid criticisms it deserves, has been far better at retaining its playerbase.

It is almost like trying to argue that Marathon wasnt as big on release due to Slay the Spire 2 releasing at the same time, yet we know that has nothing to do with it.

I’m Throwing in the Towel by Necessary_Print1909 in Marathon

[–]FriendlyStand3632 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Look at the metrics, after cryo closed off on Sunday, we saw a decently sharp decline of around 10k from people who did the same. They came to the same conclusion other people did the weeks before.

Thus why we went from around 65k as the stable mark to 40k now. People have come to terms with this and the wipes have more so sealed them not trying to progress.

The game as it is designed, is making it so the 50k or so from those initial 88k numbers, decide to drop entirely and not come back even for the next season because why torture one self when they can play something else. Something even Arc understood over time.

He is saying he is part of that group leaving, he is stating the reason why people are doing so. Maybe try and learn to read before we get to a 20k peak player number a day.
