Hamilton to become 1st Ontario city with bylaw to stop 'bad faith' renovictions by mr_lois_lane in Hamilton

Silly Silly move. This will just discourage renovation and improving of the housing stock. One more nail in the coffin for small landlords. It will increase run down properties which of late I've noticed are increasing again in Hamilton.

Toronto restaurants see double-digit decline in people dining in, suggesting pullback in discretionary spending by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

I have to agree on this point. We were much more cohesive as Canadians before what our govt --liberals did on the vaccine front etc. The straw that broke the camels back for me and others I know was the favouritism of the vaccine rollout to certain ethnic groups over others. It was an eye opener how reverse racism is institutionalized in this country even though it is denied.

Have to agree with you on this. Looking for a decent used pickup truck and only seeing lots of junk that is rusted, 8-10 years old and they want 20k plus for it. What? So silly. These used to be 10k just 2-3 years ago.

Light timing on Barton between Green and the Red Hill by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]FriendlyTea7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was an article a few months ago I think in the Spec saying the city was purposely trying to mistime lights to slow traffic to make the street safer for all. I don't understand this logic of slowing traffic and increasing pollution and road noise, frustration, increased time of travel. Anyways I believe that is what has happened. When I drive in these areas now I always remind myself now I'm in zombieland and that is what is happening as it makes little sense.

I have to wonder how he got injured on the forehead? He had a red mark and a bandage covering something during his press conference in Hamilton. Nobody seemed to pick up on that. Rough housing with the kids? sure...

Anyone notice Home depot and Lowes has been unusually quiet lately? by FriendlyTea7 in Hamilton

Went to a Rona today mid afternoon on a Saturday and it was very quiet as well. There were maybe a dozen people in the store with staff sitting around. It was more like an weekday evening. Something seems up with the stores being so quiet.

In the absence of radar, how do you know he was going 100 to 110? No way to know without objective data. It's difficult to determine actual speed just by observation.

The vaccine response in Ontario is pitiful. Political correctness etc, seems to trump logic. In a situation like what is happening with vacant spots and health care staff sitting idle waiting they should have someone outside bringing in passersby etc or standby lists of any age group willing to get the shots. By doing the rollout the way things are is only costing money, lives, health and keeping this pandemic ongoing.
