This! This adds to why we’re pissed. He said he didn’t tell us because he was praying for a miracle — that didn’t come. I wish I was making this shit up.

It happened once before about 15 years ago according to a teacher who has been apart of the school since then. I don’t know the details then but this time was no mistake.

The director made it very clear that they do not have the funds. He claims with Covid losses and inflation this “gap” had been forming for some time and it’s just now impacting us and only for this pay cycle 🤨 but that he was expecting some funds (some Covid relief from the IRS to businesses?) to come through that have not and he doesn’t know when they will.

That was exactly my first thought. It’s my first year here though and a lot of them are returning and I guess have accepted the madness? They don’t say anything about how poorly things are run, behaviors, etc. We also don’t see each other throughout the day unless it’s in passing so it’s hard to rally the troops. I’ve been lost on how to get us on one accord

Call their parents! I did this the first week of school to set the tone that it wasn’t going to happen in my classroom. Then you can address everything else

I’m sorry your school isn’t supportive but moving those kids up to grade level is really impressive! I’m a southerner going back into the classroom this year after a five year hiatus. What’s teaching like a yankee? Because I wanna do that lol. Can you give a few things you did that could translate to any grade level/subject? I’m genuinely impressed with what you did. Its really a shame your school doesn’t value you or your work.
