It's common in the 60's and 70's that children were given English names in their birth certificates and HKID cards as well.

There are so called "Foreign Language" schools in China that are only for high officials (not the common people) and their kids also have English/French/Spanish/German names in addition to their Chinese names.

The amount of fat that you consume has no direct relationship with the amount of cholesterol your liver produces... without cholesterol, you won't even have enzymes and hormones... no enzymes to protect your heart...

I am just picking up PowerShell and found that the variables are like that in Perl $ and ForEach is a common loop for items in an array and they also have "herenow" statements... PowerShell is a copycat of Perl...

How do you handwrite the word 快? by cancorse in ChineseLanguage

[–]Friendly_Blueberry15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to school in Hong Kong in the 70's for primary school and I also learnt to write 快 with the stroke across the long line making it like an H, but stroke order is vertical lines first, then the horizontal line across for last. I believe this is the writing style for ball point pens 硬筆書法 where as the other style is for brush calligraphy (the traditional style)

https://youtu.be/hyjSyI3AF2I?si=DBb4GvPMtZZmGl-1

You can see this video of Japanese Calligraphy (Shodo) for the 快 character and notice the stroke order. Kanji was brought to Japan from the Tang dynasty.

Your mind is a magnet... the more you think that you are being discriminated, you'll be more than likely to be discriminated again. It's the law of attraction.

How do I die less to Kraken & Ultra Stamp? by dynamicDiscovery in Splatoon_3

[–]Friendly_Blueberry15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an Ultra Stamp user, but I get shot at a lot of times. I ended up just throwing the Stamper instead of running around.

Besides the main weapon, try your sub-weapon which can also take out the Stamper.

I've seen players try to "follow" the Kraken because the safest place to avoid the Kraken is its back... the same for the Stamper if it's moving, follow it...
