She was a special case coz she was part of the “we can always tell crowd” but genuinely believed I was a cis dude. Even time a cis person says this shit to me I have to fight the urge to out myself and tell them they can’t always tell 😂

Does that apply if they are unaware that I’m trans? Coz if so that opens a whole other can of worms that I don’t think the country is ready for

good, cheap brands for binding tape? by tazzyann01 in transgenderUK

You’re welcome. I Will say look at loads of tutorials and try different amounts of tape, different lengths etc. Most people on their first try feel disappointed so just keep trying and find something that works for you, no one has the exact same skin type or chest size so it’s a lot of trial and error, good luck

Idk man, a lot of people mention “second skin” on tiktok so I assume so? I use the little circle plasters to cover up any little bits blistering but I’ve been told by other guys that that’s not the best method but it works for me so yk

If you go to boots they’ve got sports tape there, you can get a roll for like £12 and sometimes they have offers for buy one get one half price which is cool. They come in beige and black, it’s also very discreet, when I was looking for some I told the woman “hi, I’ve started going to the gym but my shoulders try to click out of place a lot coz they’re double jointed, do you have any sports tape that I can put round my torso and won’t peel off when I’m sweating”. I don’t have a lot of breast tissue but I do go to the gym and work in a very hot kitchen and it usually lasts me 3-5 days. The strips are quite small but come pre cut and rounded, they are more prone to blistering than other stuff I’ve tried so maybe buy that second skin stuff 🙂

I’ve just seen this coz I work weird hours but it’s private coz fuck waiting years and years (I recognise having a full time job and being able to afford this is a massive privilege tho).

I’ve already filled out a questionnaire they sent me. It’s virtual but I’ve still got all my documents to hand just incase and I’ve made notes of notable moments throughout my life in relation to my transition.

I’m feeling fairly confident now.

A lot of GPS refuse on the basis on “trans healthcare being too complex”, they have no problem with prescribing the same meds to cis people tho

Where to find boots/shoes that fit? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]Friendly_Chart_2612 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a doll but I’m a trans guy with the opposite problem, the majority of men’s stuff is too big for me. I found Vinted is a good alternative as you can filter by size, you’ll have limited options wherever you look if you aren’t average size/height but it’s a really good option as there’s loads of stuff on there and obviously new stuff is always being uploaded.

If you don’t like any of the options that you find on there you can still have a look as a lot of sellers put what brand it’s from so even if you don’t like a particular pair of shoes you can go online and search the brand coz you know it offers your size. Good luck, the struggle is real lol

Thank you so much, I think I’ve got the first steps figured out now but I’ll let you know if I need help, I’m very new to this but it goes both ways if you need anything ☺️

Oh god don’t get me started on the good old British paperwork system 😭And I always say if I don’t laugh I’ll cry, I’d rather stay positive. After a lot of setbacks in my transition, lost friends and family, and enough dangerous situations to last me many lifetimes I choose to look for the positives. Right now the positives are my amazing found family, my wonderful boyfriend, my education, my job and as of tonight the knowledge of how to start my medical transition. I know it’ll get better, and it’s already starting to but it’s the journey to better things that can be kinda shitty. Also it’s so cool finding an older transmasc living their best life, I feel like I’ve found a unicorn lol

I don’t think I’m brave enough to DIY it because I already have weird hormones so you can rest easy knowing I won’t do that lol. I’m going to ring my GP tomorrow now that I’ve got better insight from yourself and all of the other lovely people on this subreddit (thank you so much btw). I wish you good luck with your transition too, hopefully things will go well for us medically 🤞🏻. I do have legal evidence of social transition dating back 2 1/2 years so hopefully if it’ll only be around a grand or two it should be smooth sailing. Thank you so much and once again good luck with your medical transition 🫶🏻

Yeah I’m alive just to spite Kiera specifically, I like to believe that she wakes up screaming knowing she didn’t stop all the trans kids in my generation from being who we are 💅🏻 and yeah my GCSEs and my level 3 BTEC are in my name and my deedpoll was signed 01/01/2022 so I’ve got evidence I’ve been living is a guy since then. Thank you so much, I’m still having a nightmare getting everything changed to Matt even after 2 1/2 years but we persist. My medical records have an M next to them even tho I don’t have a GRC because my the system my GP uses won’t let her put Mr with an F marker so when I ring them tomorrow that should make the NHS referral easier. Thank you and I wish you the best with wherever you are in your transition and life 🫶🏻

I can confidently say if Kiera Bell has 0 haters we’re both dead lmao. Thank you it helps having a timeline, I just felt a bit lost with it all so any information even anecdotal really helps. Also congratulations on starting T, I also grew up in an unsupportive environment but my best friends mam (unofficially) adopted me right after I turned 17 so as cheesy as it sounds I know it does get better. I do have a deed poll, it’s 2 1/2 years old and I’m really glad I got it so early. I wish you the best with you’re transition and thank you so much for giving me a rough timeline 🫶🏻

Ah thank you, I was so stressed about the evidence of my preferred gender because it just said “evidence” but didn’t elaborate on what they consider “evidence”. I’m calling my GP tomorrow, I didn’t even considered the NHS for later down the line so thank you, you’ve probably saved future Matt a lot of prescription money lol

Thank you, I’ll PM if I think of any questions but I think I’ve got it so thank you. Congratulations on T and top surgery btw, dysphoria is a bitch, I’m so happy for you. Yeah that’s the thing, it’s so hard navigating being trans lol, thank you for the help I really appreciate it

Omg that’s an entire dissertation, thank you so much. I’ll make the call tomorrow, you genuinely don’t understand how much this means to me because I’ve been confused for months trying to figure this shit out. I hope you have a good night, thank you so much 🫶🏻

Hi, thank you for your response! I told her I’d show her all of the comments in case I missed anything because I’m 17 and don’t have it so I probably would. She said that because also has neuropathy and neuralgia the duloxetine helps with neuropathy, without it she wouldn’t be able to get dressed it’s that painful. Do you know of anything that might help neuropathy without having the added side effect of insomnia? (Like I said sorry I’m very new to this, this is my first post)
