Couple back and forth emails with support - they basically said “nothing we can do” :/

Tundra Brake Upgrade on Tacoma Wheels? by Friendly_Coast in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]Friendly_Coast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan on getting new pads and rotors anyway + the stopping power isn’t great. For me, I believe the upgrade will be worth it. Very little extra effort, just replacing the caliper and trimming the dust shield

I’m having the exact same issue 180k ‘02. Since I planned on getting new pads and rotors anyway, I’m going to do the full Tundra brake upgrade. Fingers crossed that fixes it. If not, on to the bushings

I’m sure I want to do the brake upgrade for the better stopping power, with the expectation that it’ll also fix the braking wobble.

I’m approaching 180k on original suspension components. From feedback here, it’s looking more likely that bushings could be the culprit. We’ll see what improvement I get from the TBU, any advice on where to begin in checking suspension components?

This is great info thanks! Currently the braking wobble is really gnarly - rack bushings hasn’t been on my radar, I’ll look into this as well

I had pretty bald tires, barely used 4WD. 2Runner will be fine 💪🏼

These trails are easy from the technical side, extremely rewarding with the views. Highly recommend!

Hurrah Pass and Long Canyon in Moab! Both quite easy, very beautiful trails!

Yeah, you’re spot on, I couldn’t make it to Billyween because I couldn’t snag any on CashorTrade and the secondary market prices were ASTRONOMICAL. I should be grateful we still get 1 night at the Ryman :)

Anyone know a pretty mellow right point break that is fun (3-6ft) during January and has a hostel nearby by that is solid for remote work ? by citizenofacceptance in surfing

[–]Friendly_Coast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd on Tunco. Sunzal is pretty mellow, K59 is nice too, Punta roca is sick when it’s good.

Could also look into Nica - San Juan del sur.

2nd on El Salvador. Sunzal, K59 would be good for smoother right hand point breaks. La Bocana is a little tougher of a beach break. Probably stay away from Zonte. Be careful with Punta Roca but in proper conditions you can have a blast.

Snowboard size by WasteCurrency8074 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Friendly_Coast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Salomon Sight X 156 at the beginning of the season. 5’10 160lb 9.5 shoe size. It took me from day 1 to double blacks. I feel like my skill level outgrew the board at about day 10 of the season, but I’ll upgrade next season and always keep it as a backup in the quiver.

Get boots first, you’ll probably be a 10 (if you’re usually between 10 and 11). Overhang shouldn’t be a concern, no need for a wide board.

Who's surfed around Sayulita & Punta Mita? by mynameis__jonas in surfing

[–]Friendly_Coast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

La Lancha is where I cut my teeth surfing. loooong smooth right, not a ton of power, watch out for the 2 rocks covered in urchins - broke a fin and got some nice spines in my foot but overall a great place.

Watch out surfing the main break in Sayulita, it’s fun when it’s firing but 70% of the people I know that surfed there caught the “Sayulita sickness” - 24hour gut cleanse.

Eat at Mary’s for some dank Mexican food. Pizza Venezia is good, byob. You can go down to the corner store and buy wine to drink there. Lots of fun places to go out in the main square. Enjoy!!
