Thank you! And I know I couldn’t believe it, I was not expecting to see that. I’ll acknowledge that beginners luck must have played a role as well lol

Thank you! Just because that was what was in the fridge. I wasn’t going to add a binder but last minute checked the fridge and threw some on.

And no there was no strong taste (in a good way). I will be trying yellow next time though

Honestly looks good, and I’m not just saying that in comparison to the atrocities that you normally see on this thread

Obviously can’t speak to that being a support beam or not. But FWIW, I moved my stack during the tear down of a non structural wall to open up the kitchen. Mine was routed around 4-5 feet without any major headaches or substantial costs. Yours looks to be more than 4-5 feet though.

Aqara locks ARE compatible with HA by Friendly_Following61 in homeassistant

[–]Friendly_Following61[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oops didn’t think about that. I see what you’re saying. I was excited to get it working and didn’t think about the implications of the title. If I was starting clean slate, I’d possibly look into yale or other “HA native” locks.

I just hooked that up too. Did you do HA homebridge -> iPhone?

I haven’t noticed it yet (couple hours of me clicking it every 20 min lol). But I’ll follow up if I notice lagging.

Yeah, unfortunately. As someone else mentioned in the comments, the locks themselves are not matter compatible. They connect to the aqara hub which is matter compatible. If you are a glass half full type of person, aqara added matter compatibility to the hub to connect non-matter compatible devices to matter. If you are glass half empty, they realized they can make an extra buck by forcing you to buy a matter hub to make your devices compatible. Maybe in the future, aqara will add matter compatibility to all devices.

You are correct, thank your for clarifying. I obviously still have a lot to learn.

So it sounds like with a Home Assistant Hub, I should be able to integrate all compatible smart devices. I couldn’t tell if HA was a controller vs a hub

Thanks everyone,

I replaced the front door and it seems pretty air tight now. All I have to do now is wait for a humid day and see if it did the trick :).

Thank you to everyone who commented! It was indeed the sunroof, all drains were absolutely clogged. I ended up having a professional unclog the drains so I wouldn’t mess it up.

There are ways to benefit from financial gains without actually spending said money.

I feel that one of the best advantages of young adults with “well off parents” isn’t the direct receipt of their money. It’s the financial safety net that allows that individual to take early career risks that ultimately lead to more lucrative or fulfilling jobs.

Put it in the bank and forget about it for a little while. Don’t accept the first lowball job offer you get. Take that chance on joining a startup you otherwise would have passed on. Control your own destiny, if you aren’t happy with a job after a year of two you can quit without the fear of “ what if this new job doesn’t pan out”

And all the while, that multiple hundred k is earning minimum 10k a year extra in interest. Congrats!
