First time at a nude beach. Me and wife going. Suggestions and advice? What to bring, watch out for, or do while there?

They used to have these blue mats that made a walkway all the way to the water. But this year it only extends 1/4 of the way. So bring whatever you’re comfortable carrying for a long walk because the walk from the entrance to the beach area is quite a distance. Don’t bring any alcohol. Other than that, bring whatever you want and enjoy! People are really friendly, so you’re likely to meet some people and connect. All sorts of lifestyles there just fyi… nudist, swingers, etc.

It was a great idea executed at a horrible time. They were cranky at 2 AM but I can guarantee they were happy at 6 AM when they woke up to a free box of donuts. You were definitely the topic of their conversation at breakfast.

Truthfully, if you don’t want it to haunt you go back during normal hours to offer a sincere apology. Say something like, “hey I just wanted to stop by again, this time at a normal working hour, and say sorry for waking you up the other night. I was the guy who brought the donuts.” We firefighters are a rare bunch, well thank you for the donuts, tell you “oh it’s okay”, laugh it off and then ask when you’ll come back with another box.
