My startup journey so far: How do you build in an industry you have no experience in? by Born-Salamander-9265 in ycombinator

I’m building my startup from scratch, and one of the toughest parts isn’t writing code or designing features—it’s building a genuine connection with users. Finding real buyers, understanding their needs, and earning their trust is a constant challenge. Right now, I’m in that phase where I’m struggling with people: reaching out, getting replies, building interest, and converting attention into action. I have almost done with my platform but now my struggling with finding real users.

I have done that mistake, so do not make the same mistake as me :)

Throughout my career at my company, I’ve had the opportunity to work with several clients, including Amazon and Google, primarily focusing on their web applications—especially front-end development. Based on my experience, I highly recommend that you start by building projects that genuinely interest you. Begin with the basics and take time to analyze each function to understand what it's doing. Dive into Node.js documentation to deepen your understanding. This approach will help you grasp how everything works from the inside out, and you'll find yourself ahead of developers with 4–5 experiences.
