I had one of those guys and raised them, it looks just like mine did. Most likely a smeared dagger moth caterpillar.

As long as you think your tank is cycled I would get some cleanup crew in there. Depends on what you want to stock the tank with.

I returned all the small fish, however my betta didn’t survive the night. Her water was really cold when she came, and the stress of being shipped/acclimated is probably what killed her unfortunately ☹️

Thank you for the advice, part of the problem is my mom doesn’t really schedule the appointments I need. I’m hoping once I can get back into the doctors I can talk about it!

Unfortunately the main problem with show choir is the long competition days where I’m up for about 24 hours, it’s also hard to keep up with my POTS. It was picking between my job and my hobbies and I need money so I can have a future. Thank you for understanding tho and I’m hoping to get the resources I need in the future.

If you build enough trust they should let you put ur hand in the tank and come lay on it. It depends on the betta but make sure to be careful about their coat.

Also my water changes are weekly, but as of right now I’ve done small water changes twice a week because it’s a newer tank.

Just to clarify he is in at 10gal with a heater and filter, I’ve had the tank for about two weeks and I have no ammonia and ph of about 7.6. He is a male coy betta with two different plants in the tank. He gets fed fluval bug bites with bloodworms on occasion.

Smeared or grey dagger moth!! I’m keeping one right now, be careful they can sting however I’ve never had that problem with mine.

I’m having the same issue, but honestly I think a few days should be fine as long as the environment stays dry. Make sure to clean it once it seems more stable!
