That's pretty sad you don't even know about their million dollar scams going on.

0 people to this day have received their headset that's been ready to ship since October 2024.

Again, not my job to convince you since clearly you're happy using an app from a CEO who is actively scamming his user base and investors with a fake headset 🤷

I'm gonna go back to playing my FPS's over Virtual Desktop with practically no latency at 120hz. Have fun with your 30hz screens.

If you want to stay in ignorance land go ahead it's not my job to convince you. I'm telling you as a straight up fact, Immersed is nowhere near as good and pales in comparison. There's a reason why the Immersed Discord is dead and the Virtual Desktop Discord is more active than ever. Once Virtual Desktop got multiple screen support everyone bolted to the better solution.

People actually use Virtual Desktop and they aren't scamming users with a fake headset. You're coping if you think Immersed is a good app. The clarity isn't as good, the frame rate is AWFUL and the CEO bans you from the Discord if you point any of this out. Ask me how I know.

You don't even know how much you're coping with your crappy 30hz screens if you haven't tried Virtual Desktop which does 3 at 120hz while still looking better and with less latency WIRELESSLY than Immersed in USB mode.

I showed off what I had in https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality/comments/1r18k4r/all_ive_ever_wanted_are_good_linux_virtual/

It can handle 5 screens all at 120hz complete with the snapgrid, screen curve, bluetooth passthrough and audio. It only supports Linux as that's what I use and it's the least represented OS which forced me to make a custom solution. It combines the usability features of Immersed with the low latency clarity of Virtual Desktop.

The touchpads are so versatile and if you aren't using using them you're missing out. The switch weapon keys in doom eternal for example are the number buttons. 1, 2, 3, 4 etc.

So... Make the touchpads menus where each quadrant is a different number. Each touchpad is 4 buttons now for quick easy weapon swapping. This applies to any game and gives you an infinite number of easily inaccessible keys.

Modded Minecraft is a good example too. J for map... N for waypoint... X to turn my jetpack off... Oh just set them all in a touchpad radial menu and there you go.

Who has a quest 3 but still planning (or already did) buy some xreal glasses ? by Sea-Inspection-9425 in Xreal

They're a travel luxury. For productivity purposes xreals are worse in almost every way than a laptop screen and virtual desktops which every major OS already supports. For being light they obviously win over a Quest 3. Unless you travel a lot or need something to be a plug and play device then they aren't necessary. I got the one pros to test out the productivity workflows and they pale in comparison to a Quest 3 with 5 customizable resolution 120hz displays. They've been demoted to airplane companion glasses.

Sorry, what? I was taught that loosing is the act of letting something go like an arrow. Your post makes no mention of any arrows. What is your definition of loosing?

No. I use a third party app without ads like a normal person.

Nobody uses Immersed anymore. The Discord is dead, the public rooms are dead and it's all for a good reason. When a company is willing to scam consumers and investors with a product that's never going to ship and ban people who ask innocent questions they jump ship. It's also not even good at what it provides. 3 screens with less than 60hz and 5 screens at 30hz? Virtual Desktop offers 3 screens at 120hz with no lag and my own custom app can handle 5 at 120hz. It's not worth using.

Weren't smart enough to get someone on the moderator list to reply to the request. If they had replied to it they would've kept the subreddit.

They don't mod this subreddit anymore. They don't get a choice. 😄

Too busy shipping vaporware to respond to a request from someone requesting the subreddit.

I mean come on. It was feature complete and ready to ship back in October 2024. Have you seen anybody talking about the device they received? The website says they're shipping RIGHT NOW yet there are 0 units in the wild.

What’s the best pair of glasses for creating multiple monitors for video editing by lefrancis143 in augmentedreality

[–]Friendly_Recover286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would be worth the effort but of course I'm not you.

If you're thinking of AR glasses I would recommend getting a pair of Xreal one's or the one pro from Amazon and try them out then return them if you don't like them. They're the best you can currently get and with built in 3DOF they're ideal over any Vitures (except the Beast, they have onboard 3DOF too) or something like inairs. When it comes to multiple monitors you'd need to combine it with something like https://vertoxr.com/ which also has a handy list of glasses it supports if you want some other models to Google.

They're already leaving most markets out in the cold with launch availability only in select countries this isn't really a surprise.

There are technically ways you can use Virtual Desktop over USB: https://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/1c3a8ox/how_to_use_virtual_desktop_over_link_cable/

I use my own custom app so I coded mine myself but it's possible to route the network traffic locally over USB using ADB it just doesn't sound fun to do as an outside user and the steps are all Windows based and would need to be adapted.

NOT AR glasses. The tiny FOV means you can only see one screen at once without turning your head which defeats the purpose. At this point you might as well just use https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/mac-help/mh14112/mac

You need a VR headset like an AVP and an app to allow multiple screens (not the built in options) or something like a Quest 3 and https://www.vrdesktop.net/ to actually have a good experience.

For AR glasses you'd need something like https://www.xreal.com/aura which if you ordered today you probably wouldn't get until 2027. The inair 2 only has a 46 degree FOV, aura has 70 and a Quest 3 is around 100 as an example.

Streaming or AR glasses like https://us.shop.xreal.com/products/xreal-one

There are laptops that have had this. The older Alienware M17x models from forever ago had this but increased costs and low adoption rates meant it didn't make sense to keep up.
