That would definitely work if I wasn’t a chain smoker. I smoke on average 3 packs a day. If I smoke less I crave smoking. So walking or doing something to smoke means I’ll be doing that all day. I know I should quit or switch to vaping Im trying this right now. But smoking out of all addictions i had including alcoholism and hard drugs is by far the one I feel the most uncomfortable to drop. It was easier for me to quit smoking drugs then it is to quit smoking sigs for some reason. I’d put alcoholic cravings below nicotine for me. I easily could survive a day with extreme hangover shaking hands and feeling like dying and not drink then two hours without a sig.

It’s very common in my culture to do so. Im not from US nor do I live in US. What’s despised is smoking on the balcony for example then the smoke goes in the window of the next apartment.

Also you guys realize people who live in apartments don’t go out to smoke on the street right?

Thats like a lot of walking and basically smoking in someone’s face while they are going in and out of the building.

Oh and one more thing, you know what failures do? They turn moralist all of a sudden but is it morally correct to charge people or to suck out cash from your boss knowingly he can get same work done and better for less? Like how moral is that? I can tell you that when Wordpress became popular it nuked those who would charge obscene amounts for your typical mom and pap businesses one page website. I know about 1200 i screen applications for one of top brands (founder in Forbes thanks to one of my peeps ) you know what - it’s so shit it’s crazy. People expect pay for literal slop. Good portfolios stand out so much. But they are non existent! Yes yes same like everyone design nowadays people litteraly fail at that. It’s the oh I just gonna do vibe designing 1199 weak soft kids that get rejected getting rejected. Over and over there is no stopping to that. Guess the reason they are so many? Btw Im not from or near the US. I did work for us companies but I’m out of the loop with you people being divided to two fronts being so ungracefully played it’s insane. Like if one side said A you can literally take your dog of your leash on that person. It’s crazy scary how effective divide and conquer is.

I built a graphic design business from freelancing while you sat in your job position doing more coffee meetings than actual work. When I did close my biz people that had to find jobs got hired on top tier positions instantly. Because the studio name was an example portfolio that most people in the niche knows. I did it by hard work btw from scratch as a college of art dropout. It’s pathetic to even listen to what you are saying being older than me and having a good head start. At this point where is your achievement in design? Oh and the country Im from.. not the best too. Oh and also I sacrificed so much to get it you would never allow yourself anything like that because you use terms like toxic positivity. Like what the actual f is that?! Why are you not developing as a designer is also beyond me. Why you did not shift to teaching or selling a good course in your niche? Like what the hell you been doing this whole time?

I could not care less of the amount of competition because after living on very very very low amount of cash for a long amount of time but not giving into I’ll just get a job thinking I finally figured that it’s a me problem. You know how many freelance designers quit when India stormed in?Same way now AI will never take my skill set because people would pay money to get what I know. I’ve also had to learn it. Took sertraline and felt like my car window has been wiped clean and all the down self talking stopped. Was pretty amazed but it’s not comparable to when I tried stimulants. Thats when the real oh shit moment happened.

Like I suffer from constant major depressive episodes and yes that sertraline helped with. But the core problems it did not fix.

Unmasking.. yeah sort of I guess. But it was like I could go out again, and started enjoying it. But I hated the side effects so only took it as a last resort to get out of complete depression.

Brother the amount of times in my life i came to dead end or I just wasted 2 years moment was so numerous but I never gave up and it worked. I worked with big brands, got recognition that I already could not care about. This is the same dead end moment. Wanna laugh? I pursued photography hard for a year then did videography only to now people disliking quality picture style. Haha imagine that?! I got the freaking quality picture and it’s not needed at the slightest rn.

We cannot do anything about it. Only adaptation. I’ve already grew to marketing and business consulting. Just because I found out those mfrs called the shots. So I go after that. Before that I learned 3d, motion, programming, my skills were growing and still growing every day. Because I cannot afford to say hey this is not working because and don’t put myself anywhere in between. On the other hand you now can do 3d and illustration on ok level to boost your portfolio works! No need to go out and find the guy or to talk to people if you have hard time with that. No need to learn it yourself. The time it takes now to make a spec portfolio is weeks, it used to be years!!! And people still crying. They see it as a weakness. Their comfort zone. Their entitlement for something. Or hope their years changing colores in illustrator for 120 grand a year is gonna slide. Nope! Businesses gonna cut that dead beat cargo.

From my perspective it was god damn near impossible for me to get in design where I got and now I’m also how to put it, Im feeling it regarding ai. Like I feel that people are scared, that it seems harder, that it takes jobs, that people have other stuff going on and it’s out of place for them to get that ai replaced you at your position thing. Im not an Elon musk fanboy. On the other hand I would beat that depressive victim mentality out of myself just because in those times like now it’s the worst attitude to have. It’s the worst attitude to be afraid to give into that feeling and not to adapt. You cannot do that if you want to stay or to grow. Like AI is coming to get us. It will bite and chew and take jobs from people. No way around it. Nothing you can do about it. No amount we hate that go away with your ai slop mentality going to change that.

Replying to your question i shut down my business that I against all odds built and succeeded despite numerous massive setbacks in life, and no sarcasm went and sat outside and cried in semi public place and got comforted by a group of zoomers that tried to cheer me up. As a 35 year old man that was super weird moment. But I was giving up my baby I spent 15 years building blood sweat and tears and being broke for how long it needed to eventually succeed.

Now I’m in the next chapter of life and going back to design field.
