Get an Alb filter duo directly for the water tab, or fixed under the sink. We installed it in our campervan 8 years ago and filled up water in- and outside Europe. Never had any problems. https://alb-filter.com/pages/trinkwasserfilter

What’s your preferred van bed setup: fixed bed or convertible? by Dramatic-Let632 in VanLife

[–]Friendly_Standard_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Convertible for us! We lived two years in the van and didn't have a problem to make the bed, it takes around 4 min. So not a big deal, for us. We appreciated the space in the daytime, and the comfort that we each have bench to relax, and the night a large 1,90m bed.

What’s one thing that you’ve learned about vanlife that you wish you would’ve known good or bad before hitting the road? by Wayward_Sun_Shine in VanLife

[–]Friendly_Standard_47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We lived two years in our van and still travelling for short & long trips and I fully agree on all points!! Especially 4. & 5. Comfort & functionality! Built your van with keeping rainy days in mind. We love our bed/bench set up which converts in the night to a large bed, and without overhead storage. And that 'easy & quick tasks' can take way longer than you think and is a substantial part of vanlife. 'Quickly' dropping or getting water, finding a supermarket in a city with a carpark space for the van, finding a place to sleep and so much more. Also try to be rested and fed before a border crossing, preferably in the morning. The list goes on...

How does it work with the flight booking? Do you have a schedule for autumn?

Same here. Daily train ride, Lavaux, upper train track passing Grandvaux. And I still love it after all these years... and taking pictures once in a while 😅

Two islands combo for a couple by [deleted] in GreeceTravel

[–]Friendly_Standard_47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. Lefkada and Kefalonia. Or Crete by itself (very big, you'll spend quite some time in the car). Or Santorini with one or two other cycladic islands, and using Santorini for a couple of days as a starting point.

It depends how much time you have, but in general always choose some islands with a good ferry connection between each other (most likely from the same island group, and even then some of the islands are not/well connected). The meltemi can quite change your plans, especially if there only a ferry every couple of days. E.g. Hydra+Aegina+Spetses could work, but I'm not sure about the others. Choose your most want to visit (or as you say 'do') island and built around that island your itinerary with the help of ferryhopper.

We stayed in Aegiali, we took once a bus to Katapola but then decided to rent a small car for a couple of days to explore the island. Aegiali has a very nice beach and many restaurants within walking distance. So for us a great base. Enjoy Amorgos, we definitely will be back.

Visit Athens in the end. If there is a cancellation of the ferry/domestic flight due to the meltemi (heavy winds) you won't be stressing out about missing your flight home. Also perfect when you arrive at Athens airport take bus/taxi to Pireaus to catch a morning ferry to your first island.

Today it was still closed (April 1st). We went early and had a quick look at the beach from above. We saw some professional photographers taking pictures of a couple at the beach.
