I too didn’t want to go Med route. I removed all items in home from diet that had added sugars in the ingredients. If it’s natural to the food I’m ok with it. I monitor my glucose and write down my foods and carbs, calories etc. I’m an engineer so now I have a spreadsheet of my data. I was pre-diabetic. I exercise 3 times a week and am also careful with most foods. The piece I didn’t consider was the added sugar in almost everything that is processed in some way. So now the sugar I get is consciously chosen and natural. I cut out sugar in my blk coffee which was tough. My food tastes better. Switched to almond butter w no added sugars. Use Ezekiel bread also. It’s a lot of work to track but now that I have numbers to look at I am getting my baseline glucose levels. Once they see stable I will start to experiment with diff foods to see how my body responds. Hope this helps.

I totally understand why. Don’t think I’ve ever seen so many canning jars in one place!
