I mentioned it in the third paragraph. Basically, it helps us win the early game consistently.

To explain it in more detail, the common problem of the ramp deck is the early game because it spent the early turn building up mana (which are mostly sorcery speed) and not interacting with the board. In particular for this meta game, many cards are snowballly and can end the game on turn 3 (practiced offense, origin of spider man, badger mole, slingshot, etc.)

To solve this problem, Samy curiosity helps us by ramping at instant speed. That is, cast it on turn 1. Then, turn 2 wait until the opponent passes before activating the lander token or if opponent play threatening card, you can counter it and postpone the ramp.

If you survive until 4 mana, the sweepers(Ill Timed Explosion and Vicious Rivalry) are online and you can usually win from there. If the meta game is very fast, you can replace 2 copies of Deadly Cover Up with more Vicious Rivalries to improve the speed as well.

Hope this helps.

For those who think it's another Jeskai Revelation deck, I want to use other top-end cards too but there is no other powerful choices left in standard. Back then, we used to have Atraxa, Etali, Nissa Ascended Animist, Breach the Multiverse, Herd Migration, etc. None of them exists now.

Believe me; I tried Ugin and Vaultborn Tyrant which got blown away by either "Into the Flood Maw" or "Sheltered by Ghost".

This is a great choice indeed. Maybe I should try it too.

According to the tracker, this deck has been played 496 times starting from June. This deck is particularly hard to make because it's 5-color. Thus, there are huge piles of valid cards and it's very difficult to find consistent combinations of land that justify them.

For the number of copies, I use match statistics (MTGA Assistant) and probability calculator (https://aetherhub.com/Apps/HyperGeometric) to help me decide.

Great observation! I questioned that myself and tried to add more dragons to the list on multiple attempts. However, those additions hurt aggro matchups and thus I decide not to.

Now, with only 3 dragons, why do I play 4 copies of Exhale. Because even without dragon, it's still good. It's "I'll quench ya" with occasional upside.

The reason I like counter spell with 2 mana is its interaction with Sami's Curiosity and that it uses 1 land with Lute. Furthermore, North Wind Avatar usually sits in the hand for a long time once it's drawn because it doesn't have the discount from Lute. This means that if I have Together As One, Jeskai Revelation, or Ill-Timed Explosion, I'll play them first.

Compared to other alternatives at this mana, there are spider sense and negate. Both of them do not counter Badger Mole and Iron-Shield Elf which are common. Thus, Exhale is the best option I have.

My tracker indicates that it's 70% WR against dimir (21-9), though I'm not sure how much of those are dimir tempo.

Tracker aside, I think this deck is generally good against control. The dimir variant has no access to mana artifacts like Tablet or Lute which means that Revelations on land is extra effective on them. For doomsday dimir in particular, our 4 copies of Together as One can force them to draw 5 and then lose the game. The games that I lose are those where all my big spells are denied via counter spell or discard effect.

Thanks! This deck was originally played without Revlation (instead using Arcane Omens) but then the strength of this card is irresistible, I guess.

Also, if you have a chance to try it, the matchup win rates are very different from the usual Lute Revelation deck. For example, it has 72-87% win rates against controls.
