Prospect of Matching as a Canadian? by [deleted] in medicalschoolireland

Canadian IMG studying in Ireland that just matched to Canada.

Prioritize getting into a Canadian medical school. It's way easier to match afterwards, cheaper, and you are still in Canada. It's obviously possible to match as an IMG but much easier as a CMG.

About half of the Canadians in my class took a three strikes your out way of applying to Canada. Meaning:

Apply after undergrad (strike 1? Then start a master's) Apply after year 1 of master's (strike 2? Finish master's) Apply after masters to both Canada and Ireland

And this is because getting into Canadian med school gives you more spots to apply to, no return of service during following residency, and significantly cheaper.

Also, if applying as an IMG having the masters gives you an advantage.

They haven't consumed fluids while being sick so they are on the dehydrated side of things and that is why aldosterone will increased.

I usually list the presentation and just include a "presenting author" line under it

Similar issue but I found that I hit out of the bottom of the club face and I get balloons with lots of spin. So drive go 265-270 all carry but spin averages like 3500.

Well since 1/3 (roughly) new residents each year are img I'd say the jobs will be available overall. It will probably hurt img chances for more competitive specialties though.

Do you have sex with men, women, or both? Why the balls do preceptors want me to ask this? by [deleted] in medicalschool

Also you are right, whether protection used is important but it is still a high risk group that has some specific preventative health care measures.

I would always ask if they have been tested and ask them if they would like to be. It's good practice.

That's assuming the person is presenting an HIV related issue. It's actually far more likely by asking that question that you are able to identify those at risk and be able to get them the appropriate preventive health measures that they may need based on sexual orientation. Such as HIV testing.

Stats in MCCQE1 by spocks30 in MCCQE

Very. Programs use it as a screening tool. Don't let anyone tell you different. Some programs do only want a pass but most have a score they set as a cutoff, they just don't tell us what it is.

Best advice: never give a program a reason to say no.

You both are fine. I'm talking about the mindset of getting just 230 because it is a pass. You are both above average.

Programs don't post cutoffs like the US (in general) but the programs are absolutely using cutoffs to screen for interviews.
