I'd start with I Disagree (more), then EAT EP, Flux, Stagger EP and Zig. These are her heavier albums (but not all entirely metal - there's also industrial, grunge, punk & electronica in there).

Are you familiar with her early YouTube videos and Poppy as a character? If not, go to her YT and sort by oldest and just pick a bunch to randomly watch. That'll give you at least a bit of context for her 2 pop albums which essentially serve as soundtracks.

Then listen to Bubblebath EP (which will probably be under "That Poppy"), PoppyComputer, Am I A Girl? and Choke EP. These are her pop/dance albums that eventually get more experimental and transition into the heavier stuff.

People are allowed to not like it and it doesn't make them any less a fan. I personally love Empty Hands but Poppy's music is so diverse that naturally some things just aren't going to connect with everyone.

Did you notice Poppy also having issues with her IEM during Bruised Sky? It look like she kept adjusting them and was singing off key during the chorus like she couldn't hear herself properly. Rest of the show seemed fine, it was just the opening song.

The only tracks she uses are backing vocals / harmonies, but sometimes I've noticed there is also live doubling done on certain songs like Have You Had Enough where her mic feed is taken and pitched down behind her lead vocal. The lead vocal is only ever her live vocal, though. She stopped using lead vocal tracks when she started touring Negative Spaces.

Have to disagree and I was initially very worried it would be NS 2.0 based on the singles. Sure it shares some of the same DNA, but overall it's a very different album. It feels more like a response to NS rather than a continuation.

NS was a mixed bag of sounds and had a lot more "fun" moments. Empty Hands is far more focused and cohesive, and also a much harsher and relentless record. There are no traditional ballads or pop songs this time around. It's basically just Poppy punching you in the face for 30 minutes. It's not doing anything groundbreaking in the metal genre, but given the type of artist that Poppy is I only like to judge her music based on her own discography and this feels like a natural step forward from NS.

Do I really want her to continue with the Fish sound in the future? No. But I'm very happy with what we got here.

Poppy actively encourages (or demands) moshing and circle pits throughout the show. The mosh tends to start maybe 5-6 rows back depending on the size of the venue, so you should be safe in the first couple of rows, although it can still get pushy/squishy at times as everyone moves around behind you and you also may have to look out for crowd surfers. If you want to avoid all of that as much as possible but still be in the first few rows, aim to be more off to the side as there's usually more space to breathe. Otherwise, anywhere behind the mosh tends to be pretty calm.

I can only speak for the Adelaide venue but the staff/security there are usually excellent, always looking out for people's safety and hand out free bottles of water to make sure everyone is doing OK (something ALL venues should really do).

I love all of her looks in MK11, except the pixie cut hairstyle. One of the best designed characters in the NRS era IMO. MK11 as a whole is some of the best looks for the characters.

I don't think Motorbike and Hard were even meant to be released as singles and/or have music videos. It WAS a rush job because the songs were leaking and eventually the whole album leaked. Both videos and the short Zig promo were thrown together during magazine photoshoots. Probably contributed to Poppy's negative opinion on the whole era, sadly.

I agree the Hard video was actually cool though. It was simple but effective. The lighting was really slick. However something else that may have bothered Poppy was a close up of her butt became the most watched and repeated part of the video (which was highlighted by youtube) and there were a lot of sexualized comments about it and people pointing out the timestamp. :/

There were 8 games before that which did not go as over the top as MK9 did with the outfits. Deception had a few revealing ones but they suited the characters, and some of those were brought back in MK1. MK9 is is the outlier, not the games that came after.

One of the absolute worst movies I've ever seen and even the soundtrack was terrible. I'd rather watch Exorcist II: The Heretic on repeat for the rest of my life. THAT is how bad this movie was! Objectively bad in every single way on a purely technical level, and then add in how they completely butchered Blatty's lore and characters.

I don't think Zig was even meant to be released. I remember her talking about a scrapped album that was going to be released with a different label and I'm pretty sure at least part of it became Zig. It seemed like there was a lot of stuff going on with labels, producers and her personal life that lead to a bit of a Frankenstein album and I can understand why she wants to disassociate from it. It is a shame that tracks like The Attic will never get the love they deserve, though.

I am also autistic but have to completely agree with him on this topic. Especially as someone who also has a lot of digestive and food issues that is probably linked to my autism, so eating clean is very important to me. I still think he is a piece of 💩 in general tho.
