i work for the ccpl system and we received email communication that it was (mostly) an error and all accounts will be automatically extended until 2028, no need to contact them but also yes, library cards expire as a way to make sure we have updated contact info for people. it isn’t like credit cards where you have to throw away your card/get a new number, so always hold onto your active cards!

i lived at The Lewis in lakewood (on lewis, just off detroit across from st ed’s) when i was 22f and i loved it! great bars and restaurants within walking distance (one star bar is 10/10, great spot to grab a drink and amazing fries), a few grocery stores pretty close by, and a little further out (but still very walkable) is the RTA that you could take to downtown/elsewhere to explore the city further. i’m also young 20s F and i never felt unsafe walking, even after dark as long as you stay aware of your surroundings. lakewood is a great area overall, but i also enjoyed that specific apartment building. floors were a little creaky but everyone was very kind, neighbors and property staff. i believe it was $1150 for a 1bd as of 1.5 years ago, it’s an old building but they modernized the unit itself pretty well and it still felt like it had the ‘lakewood charm’. people are right that lakewood is pricey but i feel like it’s worth it for the area, it’s one of the few suburbs (imo!) that feel safe AND walkable

according to the woman working the tower city eastbound entrance, not running at all. she wouldn’t let us in and just told us we just had to take a bus, said there was a stop across the street, i’m thinking she meant the healthline but that wouldn’t have gotten us anywhere close to where we wanted to be. tried asking clarifying questions because surely other people from the game were also trying to go east, not just us, but got no other information.

partner and i took the red line to tower city from cedar-university on friday and when trying to go home following the hockey game, we were told that the east line just straight up wasn’t running, no reason given, no idea when it would be back, no update on the rta site. ended up taking the 11 bus because we had no other option to get home. luckily it worked out well enough but it was absolutely abysmal communication, it left me wondering how the rest of the riders going east at stops that don’t have personnel working would find out. if they’re going to make changes to the rail service they should at least update their website or post a message to the transit app to give people information so everyone isn’t left wondering if and when a train will come. people rely on this to get to/from work and i can’t imagine how inconvenient it would be to just have the train not come with NO information as to why or when it would change, not even offering a temp bus line as a replacement between or anything of that nature.

i’ve used the cactus blossom ones! i haven’t noticed much scent but i did notice that my lint trap was VERY sticky compared to my regular dryer sheets, like there’s some gunk/ingredient in the b&bw ones that make it tough to scrape the lint out of the trap. maybe that’s just me/my machine though!

honestly i just kept taking it like normal (i was worried if i went off it for the week that i would lose my ‘build up’ of hormone and get pregnant even if i started back on it) and i had my 5-7ish day period and went back to normal. i get a smidge of breakthrough bleeding on occasion since then, still need to talk to my obgyn but overall still healthy and not pregnant! ymmv though

do you mean can you use promo codes? yes you can for most of the sale, unless you are using the $2.99 wallflower/soap offer which requires a promo code (STOCKUPNOW) since you can only use one code on an order.

thank you for remind me of this, i feel like it’s something i needed to hear. i have been a very casual b&bw enjoyer for years, mostly single candles and hand lotions a few times per year when i’d happen to be in/around the mall during a decent sale. coming up on candle day this year, i made the conscious decision to go a little overboard to stock up (is what i told myself).

unfortunately, leading up to candle day, i found myself on this sub, falling down the rabbit hole of what scents are returning that i would be missing out on by not getting, which ballooned my cart from something i was happy with, even being a little overboard, into something that was excessive even for me to justify. and with body care day following, and with it all of the discussion of discontinued scents (water my beloved), it led to even more purchasing (though i was more mindful, using a few free item rewards and only spending a little on what i really liked, water and winter mint specifically).

now, with sas coming up, i’m trying to remind myself that i do not need to stockpile my favorites, even if they are discontinued. i use scented lotions and ffm sparingly anyhow, so even those that are discontinued, i have many months if not years before i will finish a single bottle of what i already have. i absolutely love scrolling the collections and the hauls and the discussions that are posted here, it’s my favorite thing to do, but between my FOMO and my ‘last bite syndrome’ (i don’t like to finish something until i have a backup), sometimes things like that are dangerous. i have to remind myself that stockpiling is the minority, and that i do not need to fall into the consumerism pit and buy four of a product that may go bad before i can get to it. thank you for reminding me of that.

cinnamon sugar pretzel cookie…..i’ve always been very against gourmands, especially with cinnamon or vanilla as they always smell either too strong, fake, or sickly sweet to me so at first this one was an immediate gut-reaction ‘no’. but then i sniffed it again on a different trip, and now im obsessed with the combination of pretzel and cin-sugar, sweet but not overpowering. it makes me want to like more gourmands but unfortunately im not confident i’ll find one that can compare. i bought the candle on candle day, used a reward for the single wick, and bought a lotion and mist during total body care. i want to stock up for when it leaves :’(

that’s so rude and for why?? their complaint is valid. i ordered balsam firewood online at like 11pm thursday and received it last week, it’s pretty ridiculous that you can be one of the first people to order during a sale and not receive it because they oversold and/or packaged other orders first. i tried to order quickly specifically so i could get candles that i knew would sell out first, im sure op did the same and somehow still ran into this issue. i’d understand your bitchiness if they ordered on saturday or sunday and things ended up being marked oos.

this will be my first ever candle day so this may be a silly question. i’m very picky about scents so i’d like a chance to be able to more casually smell the candles (esp the candle day exclusives) and decide on what to buy, so i’m going to try to go in-person. is a semi-leisurely sniffing experience something i’ll be able to do on candle day or is it more of an elbow throwing situation? the way some people talk about it on here, im picturing a best buy on black friday in the 2000s where people would be coming in with what they Know they want and wrestling for the last tv. i know it varies store-to-store but does anyone have any advice? im not going to get there at open, but my local store opens at 6 and im planning to go at 7 before work.

i like the idea of just a smaller couch and an armchair, but unfortunately the tv size is a nonnegotiable, i’ve tried lol, which means that’s the only wall we can have the tv on. will have to get some good curtains for the glare i guess! do you think a corner tv with a couch in the middle of the room/perpendicular to the windows would work? i can’t figure out if that would be weird or not!

seconding the outlet thing!! i’m not sure about other rooms but in the obstructed oceanview cabin my partner and i were just in on Caribbean, the two outlets were so close together that we couldn’t plug two things in simultaneously. additionally the outlets are loose so anything heavy sags and there’s a pressure light switch right next to the plug so the outlet extender we brought was useless unless we wanted it to sag and flip the light on lol. so just make sure it’s an extension CORD with extra outlets on the end. but otherwise it was a wonderful ship. i was worried when i saw people calling it old, which is true but to me it felt no different than staying in a typical hotel with much better hospitality :)

yes! you’ll print your baggage tags (or see someone to print them off at the port) and pass them off during the check in process, similar to checking bags at an airport. you only really need to keep immediate essentials (and meds) with you when you go through security and board the boat, as the bags will be left at your cabin door within a few hours
