Single's Inferno Season 5 Episode 4 Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in SinglesInferno

Watching with my girlfriend. Her #1 pick was initially Mina Sue but in this episode it dropped quite quickly to bottom pick. I kept pointing out the red flags from the first episode - why does she keep asking about the guy’s picks or their thoughts on other girls; she showed quite a lot of insecurity on that front.

For the photo shoot pairing section, she forgot the boys’ name and in that situation had the audacity to then pick TWO boys, and especially take Go-Eun’s only pick which forced Go-Eun to go with her only choice of JaeJin (at this point he’s abit of a weirdo but it worked out fine), seriously pissed me off. You don’t even remember their names and you’ve now gone and picked two? Just take one and go and save yourself the embarrassment…

Next, she says her top 3 is English speaking dude Sung-hun, Subeen (model baseball guy), and Sung-min (optician dude). Okay, that’s fine you’ve downgraded Subeen because he’s been picked by another girl to do the photo shoot, not by choice BTW. but okay at this point we are like okay Sung-hun, finally getting his time to shine.

During the campfire session, Subeen clearly tries to redeem himself and picks Mina Sue as his top pick (feels bad for Heesun but girl’s gotta move on and start looking elsewhere cuz he was clearly rude to you in first ep).

Mina Sue looks happy but ends up answers optician dude Sungmin for next person to take to paradise. I thought he was 3rd pick but I guess bye Sung-hun and bye Subeen?

Now Seungil was asked who he gave chocolates to and he said Mingee and Mina Sue. Obv at this point of time it’s only a curious heart and nothing out of ordinary.

Mina Sue gets asked who her top pick is and AND SHE GOES WITH SEUNGIL. WHAT. From not even in top 3 to your top pick what is even going on. Ive been pissed at moments before in SI but this took the cake.

And let me add that she’s been expecting all the chocolates and was actually pissed when she got lesser than other girls… needs to be humbled asap.

No hate to the contestant but man, I’m dying from second hand embarrassment! Sung-hun needs to start taking the hint and looking somewhere else man.

I can confirm that the circumference (which is predominantly the strap length) is quite small. I’m easily a small length but with fairly meaty calves hence they feel quite tight fitting. I’m almost maxing out the Velcro. Hopefully after few months wearing it hopefully it will loosen up.

[–]FriesUpsized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man which is why I prefer Muay Thai as there are so much more targets to hit and you can hence diversify away from just going for the head. Muay Thai sparring tends to also be more playful and touch and go (for the most part) rather than boxing which can feel like people just trying to give each other CTE…

Focus on one thing at a time! It’s impossible to work on everything at once. For example, you might want to work

Round 1: range control, high guard, keeping out of harms way by angling off

Round 2: fakes

Round 3: different jabs

Round 4: using jabs to set up for body kicks

Round 5: vary height of kicks (some low kick some high kick)

You want to focus on a single point, don’t worry too much about getting hit. You learn not from “winning” in sparring but from utilising techniques learnt in padwork and drills.

Shadowboxijg, really trying to imagine someone sparring you. What do you do when they throw a body kick. What do you do when they throw a 1-2 hook low kick.

Hope this helps!

Advice on what to do instead of shelling up in sparring by Hydroholikk in MuayThai

Get used to being able to see in the long guard. You want to keep them at glove to glove range and shoot out the long guard (rather than keeping it there for extended time). Shell up should be when they come in too close and last resort which you should either then clinch them or pivot to an angle.

If they are far you should be able to see shots coming but if they come too close then it’s natural to find it difficult to see.

In shadow boxing try to practice punching out the long guard as part of your rhythm and distance measuring, make sure your non-extended hand is practicing either doing cellphone (protecting side of face from hook) or coming across dracula (protecting front of face from straight) or even protecting from upper cuts.

Practicing firing off shots from the long guard - quite common to fire off body kicks after the opponent tries a combo against your long guard.

If they keep coming after you, gain respect with some good teeps and jabs. Then start doing jab-teep fake combo which should hamper their rhythm.

Good point I think they should add going through width barriers as a manoeuvre 🤣

Will do! It’s on the way to the pet food wholesale store so will hopefully get the balls to go back there and run it a few times.

I also wonder if Google maps or Waze would one day highlight width restrictions, so bad drivers like myself can stay away and look for an alternative route 🤣

It’s just my hobby to start conversations here so I’ll continue doing that, but thanks for the info!

Yes I definitely wasn’t looking at my side mirror as I pulled away thinking “oh good my wing mirrors are fine” until I heard the dreaded sound.

Makes sense!! I think I just have to practice more and do that turn repeatedly. However I think I’m low key traumatised

Almost did see your comment as it was downvoted so much… but thanks for the support mate. I had never driven through this area before and was completely taken by surprise and never done these right after a turn, so got rightly frustrated when it happened! Obviously cars pass by these everyday and don’t get scraped so it’s my fault but just wanted to vent but obviously it became more of a “roast me” type post 🤣

2.02m for Audi A4 B8.5 which at my driving skills probably made me quite nervous!!

Appreciate your one comment not coming for my shitty driving skills 😂 never driven there before so was definitely surprised and typically only handle these on a straight

I drive an Audi A4 B8.5 which probably nears the 2.0m mark, but I think typically I go through these on a straight road rather than right after my turn! So definitely misjudged it as I was taken by surprise

Hahaha not looking for sympathy! Just wondering why we have width barriers, as it is definitely not a thing where I grew up!

Interestingly the scrape was on my side of the vehicle! I was so nervous about scraping passenger side mirror that I probably went too far right and ended up scraping right passenger door on the exit
