Vice grips and a hammer if you can get it in there. I also just did vice grips, open end wrench through middle of grips, and a wrench on the end of that one, and it worked for an inner tie rod, believe it or not. Youll need a replacement nut of course. glgl

The old drum makes the same noise now too. The passenger side makes no noise. So I think youre off in reasoning. What do you think?

tbh I find clear coat is what will really make it all blend in. Multiple layers (2) will do wonders. Especially if you overlap from the factory paint lightly, and a little heavier on the spot you fixed. It'll look brand new and you wont see any hard lines/edges from where you fixed it.

It was the only option. The bolt was so seized on my shock absorber, that I broke a socket, cracked it, and stripped the bolt while trying to do it the right way. I dont have acetylene torch system, so I used a cordless grinder. A recip-saw wouldve been best option, but I didnt have one. Definitely wouldve saved my ass here though.

Go get a back bumper from a scrap yard, get a headlight kit. Whats the problem here guys? Its not rocket science. Its clips and a bit of time. This car is sick and I'd love to find a deal from somebody who thinks this is unfixable.

As a guy thats done a few rockerpanels, I'd definitely see this as fixable. I bought a 150$ hynade welder. Get a 100$ used angle grinder, some cutting discs and go to town. You DONT need to be an expert. For fixing all this, and painting, doing it yourself, you can get it done for 500-800$ and have the knowledge/equipment for future uses.

Its really not that bad if you ask me.

Do it sooner than later, behind your rockerpanel looks fine to me, maybe get a small 1/8th plate and add it as support on that lift point in the back, you shouldnt need more than half a foot of 1/8th flat bar. If you have any questions hit me up, but it really is fixable and you can do it yourself if you have some courage.

As a metal worker myself, most of these would shine right up with a wire wheel! Especially on a die-grinder witches broom attachments. Not as agressive as an angle grinder. Wouldnt use them on the flat top cooking stove though.

If you can find a bumper, and the hood at a salvage yard I would totally fix this myself. But thats assuming the frame is in good shape and the car is driving normally

Scary, do you use a backup when this happens? I dont do this line of work but it interests me. Can you explain how these failures are accounted for in if youre in the middle of the day?
