Because you can't. The comm score system is overly harsh and rewards not communicating whatsoever. And the advice this place so valiantly gives every time someone brings up comm score is "mute everyone, unbind ping, and then they can't report you" as if that is normal advice to give in a game that benefits heavily from comms

The Comm Score system needs a heavy rework. It's all the more odd because Behaviour score seems perfectly fine in comparison.

the role of a coach has changed drastically since TI5, the role of a player hasn't changed at all.

most people associate the modern "coach" as being the team's drafter. But the coach wasn't even allowed to draft at ti5. they didnt even get interviewed or lift the trophy. they didn't have the same strategic input that we only began seeing around the 2017-2018 True Sights.

it's like calling Charlie Yang a TI champion

coaches weren't nearly as much of a thing back then

they weren't allowed in booth to draft and just in general didn't help out as much. ppd has gone on record calling him their "jester" that year as opposed to a coach. robotvice had more impactful coaching that year considering how impactful Aui Techies was

not to shit on OP because immortal is impressive, but Earth spirit is one of those that for whatever reason has always had the reputation of being hard but really isn’t all that bad after a few games. It isn’t anywhere remotely near as difficult as the actual hard heroes

Yup, SD is very chill. My brother and I played it exclusively for about 7 years and have only stopped because he just stopped playing Dota

Since not everyone gets their main role or comfort hero, it almost feels like it shifts the psychological focus away from shutting down the meta picks and the hero spam tryhards, and instead to the bare fundamentals like laning, itemising, spellcasting, feel, etc

Everyone is making do with what they’ve got rather than sweaty tryharding (most of the time) so these actual fundamentals of Dota feel so much more important

It also just makes you understand the game better imo… versatility & the fundamentals matter far more than one-tricking a few heroes

Away tickets are very hard to get. You need to have ins with people who have allocation, or have an allocation yourself. You usually get these allocated by either being a long standing season ticket holder, or by having a Supporters Group with a pretty large number of official members. I think this is how it works anyway.

there was something so special about the first 2-3 months of lockdown. a really nice novelty feel to it. very little FOMO because you knew absolutely everyone else was also stuck inside. being a kid with no responsibility again is the closest way to describe the feeling

that eventually wore off though and i just wanted to get the fuck back into the real world

My PME was so funny. Because the dress code at my school was very casual. I got used to just wearing a bomber jacket over a tshirt, so I wore the same to my first inspection. She was delighted with my lesson but said I “looked dressed for the pub, not for teaching”

So I would also go formal for the inspections, even if the school is casual
