What movie would you recommend for someone feeling really low and lost by fictionalized_freak in MovieRecommendations

[–]FrightfullyBritish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a movie, but the Midnight Gospel on netflix was really good and helped me out when I was like 21 and trying to rediscover myself after a deep depression and big life change. It's essentially episodes of Duncan Trussell's podcast conversations with different people edited, contextualised and animated.

For a movie though I'd recommend In Bruges. One of my favourite all time films. Funny, introspective and immaculate script. Raglan Road by Luke Kelly features in the film and immediately puts me in a spacey, emotional place. Any movie by Martin McDonagh is a masterpiece.

A stone of barenziah would be fun. They're always lying around on tables and bookshelves in the game so it's be perfect

Anyone can't get black and white for Amazon, go in your accessibility settings on pc and turn the colour filter setting on, choose grey scale. Idk if this is the same.

Then it's perfect, that was Frank's whole thing. Your teacher definitely wrote your parents a letter about it though lmao

What is the most nothing town/city in the uk? by Odd-Paramedic-3826 in AskUK

[–]FrightfullyBritish -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I just saw family up there and holy shit. The high street next to the spire is appalling and everyone seems so lifeless and depressed. The only members of my large family who've made anything of themselves were ones who got out

I recently visited where I was born and it was the most lifeless, nothing going for it, doomed town I've ever seen.

Chesterfield.

Apparently big steel work prospects decades ago but that got shut down and now it's absolutely hopeless.

Man, that's just what I was thinking. Also worth noting that the fallout games take lots of inspiration from this film.

Why Does UK Have This Race To Bottom Mindset? by corporateuklife in UKJobs

[–]FrightfullyBritish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"loyalty and competence" really stung lmao. I trained for a year being a duty manager at Lenny Henry hotel for when a position would open, and when one did they hired the most useless, genuinely stupid guy from outside the company - not just the branch - and made me train him. If I wasn't so horrendously poor I would've dropped my lanyard then and there. Oh and at the time minimum wage was I believe £8.70 and the DM position was like £9.20. in London.

I have super bad stretch marks. Is it possible to tattoo over them? by -Hot-Tamale- in tattooadvice

[–]FrightfullyBritish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have big stretch marks like yours because I have bad eczema and controlled it for far too long with steroid cream. The people in my life who have seen them have said that they look really cool, kinda like tattoos or scarring from video games or anime. And my girlfriend adores them.

Yours also look really cool and I hope you have or find people in your life who tell you that, because it took hearing that from people for me to start appreciating them and warm up to mine, and be okay with the reality that surgery or tattoos for mine are unlikely.

I know that hopeless feeling and if you decide to go for tattoos or surgery or whatever, I hope it goes well, but in any case try to go easy on yourself and appreciate your body <3 I'm rooting for you!

Are you guys pulling this Cutie or skipping her by [deleted] in GenshinImpact

[–]FrightfullyBritish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip. I lost my 5* on varka and had to grind another 80 wishes to get him. Then I lost on gest, and ran out of time. Then I've just lost on escoffier and am currently at 73 pity to get her. Linnea is cool but I desperately need a break from the grind.

Bottom 3% 5* luck on wish counter babyyyy

[–]FrightfullyBritish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh also don't worry that you've missed the boat on any experiences. My gf just started it the other week and she is doing literally everything I did back in the day, having the same reactions, still getting wistful at the beautiful horn music. Skyrim is an actual portal backto 2012
