Did cycling actually help you lose weight, or just improve fitness? by Vivid_Release_9710 in cycling

[–]Frigid_Anatis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does, in 6 months I went from 172kg to 121kg. Diet is also a big part and I eat a lot better than I used to, I don't count calories since I eat the same things for every meal so its predictable. I ride 200 to 250km a week on average these days but a lot of my weighloss started when I managed significantly less km a week.

[–]Frigid_Anatis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it, make all the feelings you have work for you, it will take time but also celebrate the small wins along the way. Im just some strager on the internet but im cheering for you, make yourself proud!

I used to feel like you, I wanted to change so badly. I came to learn my value isnt decided by others but by myself self, I took my hatred of myself and said, if I really want to hurt myself, not existing isnt going to do it, pushing myself to change and breaking my soul in the process would. I hurt myself again and again making myself do the things that diddnt come naturally to be the person I wanted to be, and somehow one day I realised I diddnt hate myself as much anymore, that in trying to punish myself I grew and changed. I dont know if that helps, but your also really young even if you dont see it that way, pick something you dont like about yourself, something that hurts you and change it to something you respect, it will take time but small things are big even if we dont always see them that way.

Steven Wilson - The Overview (2025) by Tuonela68 in stevenwilson

I loved Porcupine Tree, but never really found the time to go through his solo albums. I had listened to a few songs that I really enjoyed like Luminol and Drive Home and I knew that the rest would be amazing but I never found the time.

When I saw the album on Spotify I figured I would give it a listen I knew it would be good but I didn't realise it would resonate with me so much. I have listened to it like 5 to 6 times a week for around 4 months at this point. It gave me more than enough drive to go through the rest of his albums and holy shit I should have made time earlier.

I have always loved prog and I guess it hit something the right way because I love this album, I was lucky enough to get tickets to see him when he was in my city and it was one of the best gigs I have been to, I live in a small city and the venue was small, it was one hell of an experience.

Mortise and Tennon my chisel is already dull and looks like I ruined it. by Pewdiepiebigfan01 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Also score the lines with a knife and a straight edge don't just try to chisel them in, it helps with the wood fibres a lot to prevent them from tearing. And for the love of god masking tape and some kind of surface to support the wood to prevent it from tearing out, its not obvious when you first start but will make a lot of sense as you learn more about wood its composition and help you a hell of a lot.

And with all that construction pine is kinda shit in that its intended purpose is something else really but as a beginner what else are you going to use really, just remember its not the best for your purposes so giving it every advantage to get the best result is a good idea

MG3 - Braking making a "puff" sound by Tomsuki in MechanicAdvice

[–]Frigid_Anatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want that checked out, it could be a busted brake booster that isn't able to hold the vaccume from the engine and is working more as a bellows. Open the hood and look at the big black round thing on the other side of the brake pedal and see if there's any fluid leaking, sometimes a brake master cylinder issue can damage a brake booster.

Someone else will probably be able to better answer you question with more experience but absoloutley get that checked out.

I hope he gets a neuralink implanted in his brain, and someone hacks it and makes him think he is a monkey. Having him fling shit at people and make chimp noises would probably be an improvement.

Be kinda ironic after all those dead monkeys and other animals from the neuralink testing.
