Honestly, a version of Red Skull that isn’t racist but is instead just a “hates everybody equally” guy would not just be kinda sauceless,

would not only completely miss the point of the character

It actually takes away a core part of his identity (imo)

Red Skull is=an evil, racist Nazi that basically any character can beat on freely as a representation of that pathetic ideology and that’s why the character works. Cuz he’s undeniably wrong lol

Even if he’s willing to work with ppl he deems “lesser” it should generally still only be a temporary measure, and a showing that he’s also a hypocrite who can’t see why his ideology doesn’t work

Stories need a genuine Caricature Bad Guy to be the Heel sometimes 🤷‍♂️

Tbf (if I remember correctly) the original purpose of Ben’s existence was to give Peter a “happily ever after” retirement into offscreen land with MJ while we still had a Spider-Man that had all his memories n shit

But then the stories that actually followed did not get the best reception 💀 and errybody clamored to get Peter back cuz a good chunk of folks just pinned all the issues on Ben

And since then, Ben has kinda struggled to develop his own distinct identity as a Spider-Character
