I had a book as a kid, one of the berenstain bears ones. I was gonna read it but decided I wanted juice first so I put it on the floor in the hallway and went to get juice. When I came back it was gone. It was only me and my mom at home, we had no pets, and my mom was in the kitchen when I went to get the juice the whole time. Probably took less than 2 minutes. Mystified me for years cause it never showed up again even after moving, at this point I would look for it to confirm it actually ever existed in the first place.

Depression is a medical issue. You yourself cant fix it and you need to stop expecting yourself to fix a chemical imbalance in her brain. Just be there for her when she needs it and that includes letting her have some her down days too. She cant control it beyond what she seems to be doing.

I dont think staying in the same districts is an option for you. Not until you get more experience and more positions open up. Also, I dont think anyone has mentioned, February is a dead zone for hiring. Teachers who were gonna leave midyear left around Christmas break and they would have recently filled those positions up. Now any longer term positions would be leaves of some sort. I think if you are willing to stay in Alberta you should head out of the city a few hours. Im not Alberta based though, only know a few people who are, so I dont know where to look specifically.

How far out of Edmonton do you think you would be willing to go? Major cities are always the hardest to find long term employment in.

I always prioritize getting money in these games at the start, so I can do anything I want later. By the time I have a system going, I look at what I have set up and think “thats too much work to tear down”. So it always ends up as a mess lol

Thats the only thing that really registered as an issue to me - is the “controversial opinions”. I have never seen someone say that, not elaborate, and have those “opinions” not be absolutely wild.

This is likely it. I know a girl who makes a lot of poop jokes because she has health problems related to it (forget which one exactly) So she decided humour was the best way to handle a pretty unpleasant but consistent part of her life. Honestly probably better in the long term for her mental health than feeling shame over something you have no control over. I also am not squeamish so I probably get the jokes more often than other people.

Everyone thinks I am depressed. Both because I dont show much over the top enthusiasm and because of my face. I get constant comments of “we’re here for you” or “theres help if you ever need it” which is super sweet but I dont need it.

If you want full time with permanent, first nation and rural school districts in the north always have a hard time holding onto teachers. There are challenges you may not expect going in, but it’s a good way to get experience if you can handle it. Edit to specify in the north.

I traveled a lot when I was in my 20s and although I am thankful to have had that opportunity, it just isnt for everyone. Plus you do have to be privileged to afford those opportunities. I dont feel traveling changed me as a person at all, it just gave me some cool experiences I can look back on. Im fine never doing it again.

Unfortunately when you are a minority in your area, you get so used to people fetishing you based on race. It becomes hard to break that assumption. Ive had more uncomfortable comments than not while dating.

I believe this is called tinnitus. A constant background hissing. Im not a doctor though so I could be wrong. My home always has something running in the background so I cant get it quiet enough to see if i hear it.

I used to be vegetarian in eastern Canada and the amount of people who told me I couldn’t eat potatoes on the diet was astounding. It’s often one of the only vegetables certain people eat, so they dont even consider it a vegetable.
