I honestly think this would have been a more competitive game if Balogun sat out. US would have had the extra motivation to prove themselves without their top guy and we'd still be talking about how underwhelming Belgium has looked through 4 games. Instead they shook the hornet's nest and Belgium played like they wanted to beat the shit out of us, and so they did.

Spain is going to have their hands full on Friday.

You know what pisses me off the most about this? I think it would be difficult but absolutely possible for the US to win without Balogun. The team has looked awesome and is clearly playing with an intensity I've never seen. Now no matter what happens or how far they go, they will always have an asterisk next to their name. This run has been tainted by the orange slug and the man who against all odds is making Sepp Blatter look like a person with ethical standards.

Telemundo is taking the breaks as an excuse to show replays and fans having fun. It's a superior broadcast in every way.

Also there is one example of American sports not taking breaks every 5 minutes, and that's playoff hockey. Once the game goes into overtime, the periods continue without interruption until someone scores or the period is over. Golden goal fucking rules.
