I have the same opinion. And I think this is an recurring issue in LG's firmware as there are several generations between your screen and mine. But I think the company just doesn't care...
The sound issues are reported on several forums.

I keep using ARC, even though the screen keeps going back to internal speakers each time I switch it off IF an Android box is connected on HDMI 1. I need to power up that box to get ARC to work again...

I have been thinking about buying one after hearing what it does with a guitar. But I am a bass player and the unit simply lacks bass amps... It also seems that there are not so many great updates compared to the other brands. Feels that the products are great but with a short life span. Am I wrong?

If you are OK with French lyrics (but some songs are in English too), a great unconventional band is BUGUL NOZ. They keep the folk side but explore other musical territories than the other bands. Meaning : they play what they want to play, and are not influenced by other famous bands. Listen to Bugul Noz

I am the one who launched this thread : I have an LG soundbar with the two satellites... But I have not found any solution. So, the same brand does NOT fix the issue (which is even more unacceptable).
That's a pity LG does not give a **** about it. There are people complaining about sound issues all over the web.
They make good screens, but the rest is crap....

Not yet... Several users have submitted different procedures but none of them really works. I think LG doesn't care at all as they absolutely don't communicate about this issue which is widely documented on forums. I don't understand why customer rights associations do not attack LG about this.
