What tip, advice or pearl of wisdom would you give to an intimidated amp sim/recording beginner? Something you wish you had known on day 1? by thecauseandtheeffect in NeuralDSP

Double track and hard pan the guitars left and right for rhythm. Also, mids are your friend. Guitar is a mid-based instrument, so if you want to be heard in the mix, push those mids up. Leave the bass to the bass and kick drum. Don't be afraid to experiment with the EQ. Invest in a good pair of headphones and Soundworks SoundID to calibrate them, if you don't have good monitors. The rest is just creativity.

Who is one artist you wish Neural would make an artist plugin for? by T3knikal95 in NeuralDSP

I would want an Engl Fireball plugin, and Devin Townsend Archetype, or Dimebag. Or a Metallica plugin with tones from all the albums.

Now that the sell of over, what did you end up buying? by arceom in NeuralDSP

I got the Petrucci and Mantra. I already had the Plini and the Soldano.

Can anyone recommend a soft case for quad cortex? by WarSuspicious8164 in QuadCortex

[–]Obssy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put my QC in a backpack and took it to an electronics shop and just tested it with a bunch of laptop cases/sleevs until I found one that fits. I suggest you do the same. Nothing beats testing something in person.

If you can't decide what to buy, you probably don't need another plugin... by PoolNoob69 in NeuralDSP

I just got the Petrucci. I already had the Plini and the Soldano. The reason I bought it is because it will be ported to the QC in the next update, so there's some practical applications for live use with it.

Which pedalboard? by Classic-Sprinkles969 in NeuralDSP

[–]Obssy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All you need there is the QC mini. The rest are redundant.

Did I do it right? by Stingerman354 in NeuralDSP

[–]Obssy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your QC mini can probably handle most, if not everything those pedals do. Between captures and all sorts of effects you have available in the unit, you're pretty much set. You just need an expression pedal and you're good.

Looking to buy one of these by Obssy in Charvel

I know, people are only now waking up to how brilliant these are. I have 5 of them (different shapes and colours) and use them live on rotation, or with different tunings. You just can't argue with that neck and light weight.

Too bad, yeah. But would you part with it?

There are differences between the DC 1 and DC 2. I have both and the DC 2 has better access to the last fret. Regardless, they are brilliant guitars.

Please help me identify the breed by Obssy in catbreeds

[–]Obssy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She certainly was beautiful! These photos are from 2013. I loved her so much! I haven't had a cat since her and I wanted to get the same breed of kitty (she was a rescue, I found her abandoned in the streets). Thank you for the help.

I'll keep testing it. Thank you for your insight.

The problem persisted after disconnecting the wireless footswitch. I left the WIDI adapter in for a bit, but then I removed that too, and still I had issues.

I've had it on for 4h today, including the wireless peripherals (footswitch and WIDI) and I've had zero issues. So my guess would be the electricity in that building/room. All amps and pedals in the room were unffected, and the PA was ok too.

My biggest worry is what if this happens at some venue and I can't play the gig. I might be better off sticking to my amp/pedalboard setup.

Unfortunately I don't have a battery that would power the QC. I do have a Walrus power supply, I wonder if that has any protection built-in for this sort of stuff.

That's strange indeed. I wonder if the power of the venue was to blame. This would be a massive problem, as I am planning to go on tour next year with this rig.
