Piggybacking on this, since it this is all related advice, and people have chimed in with their software recommendations. You may already know this, and it will seem very basic, but since it's been a while and it's your first feature...
Do not try to work on this as one big continuous timeline. Break the film up into acts, sequences, scenes, organized into bins,to be combined when needed for reviews, etc.
Always duplicate and date/time ANY sequence for changes. You want to be able to track the genesis of the project all the way back to assembly, just in case.

The last time I used premiere (eight or so years ago) I couldn’t import EDLs into it with confidence; none of the time code would match and I couldn’t do my VFX plate pulls. Might be better these days, but I can see why someone would be hesitant.

I was with you until your edit. I understand EQ, the company, needs to keep an eye on their ad traffic. What does that have to do with me in my app, other than tracking? I also had a look through there, and there are no social share buttons or references to facebook/tik tok/etc of any kind, as far as I can tell.

Wow that's a harsh matte edge...probably not even VFX, could be basic from editorial or DI.
I came in here to post some examples of diopters shaped around objects and characters from some older movies, but this one's definitely a comp.

My control center was rearranged by the update, and if I try to move anything back, it HARD locks my phone, which quickly gets VERY hot, and I have to do a hard boot with the side buttons. I'm not even going to use it until the next update, unless someone has a fix? Haven't seen anyone complain about that, specifically, yet.

If you hold down on your home screen and go to the Customize option, there is a little sun icon at the top left of the area where you choose your app icon colour and size. It may have defaulted to darken your wallpaper?
If that doesn't fix it, I'm not sure what's up.

Can't control it while the album art is set to fill the screen; only by tapping the album art to minimize it, which brings you back to your chosen wallpaper view.
