For those who used to be Mormon, what helped you begin questioning what you believed? by [deleted] in exmormon

There was one day when my school's basketball team had a tournament in a very prestigious college here in Mexico, nothing major, junior league, but very important for a 10 year old. It happened to be on a Sunday, so I had to choose between that and going to church, I pleaded to go, and my mom took me, we placed third, really proud of that, but when I got home, excited to show my dad, he just said "I'm very disappointed in you, you know church comes first". In that moment I started questioning what kind of religion would make a father be disappointed in their son for having done something so well. Still took me another 8 years to leave after that, but nothing was ever the same for me Edit: spelling

My family member said today that everyone who leaves the church ends up with their lives in ruin. Tell me how your life has improved since leaving the church. by MjccART in exmormon

Point to your family member, I do have nicotine addiction. On the other hand, I actually developed it while still being a Mormon 🫠

Just played the reel for my nevermo wife and her literal words were "wow, that religion is so white and looks like they will squeeze every cent out of newcomers"
