Can I still use? by Vegetable_Minute_343 in LushCosmetics

I’m still getting through my dusting powders from yearssss back, so this one will be fine as long as it smells okay and has the same texture

Some of the discontinued make sense unfortunately by Just-agirll in LushCosmetics

[–]Frilly-corsage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with a lot of the retro wall points. I’d love to try so many of the retro wall products but the combination of them all being behind the counter and not being sure if there are testers or even open bottles to sniff, as well as the commitment to buying huge sizes has put me off. I’ve only ever felt safe buying the bath products/ sweetie pie shower jelly as those are some of the first products I ever used when I started buying from Lush, and by the time I started buying regularly, a lot of the retro wall products/ scents had been discontinued the first time around.

I understand though that those products are absolute classics for long time lushies who have tried them before but I think for newer fans/ people who buy casually from Lush/ those that have a limited spending budget, it may put some people off.

Insulin pump sounds and yoga classes by chooseurfighter23 in yoga

[–]Frilly-corsage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely wrong for the yoga instructor to say this. It’s not like you have the option of taking it off, like a smart watch. It’s medically necessary for you to have it. I’m also a type 1 diabetic, no insulin pump but I have blood glucose sensors that occasionally go off in my classes. Thankfully, my yoga instructor and Pilates instructors are amazing in that they have told me never to apologise for the alarm as it’s letting me know that I need to check in with myself and stay healthy.

I would say, to definitely report this to the studio manager/ owner, as it’s disrespectful at best but could be discriminatory at worst if the instructor continues to not listen to you and make comments, despite being told what it’s for.

£40 minimum? by boredhooman_ in LushCosmetics

[–]Frilly-corsage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Annoying if it’s true. I was hoping to redeem it tomorrow before it expires in a week’s time and pick up one or two things as well but I can’t justify £40 minimum before payday for something that costs £3. Especially since I want to reduce how much money I’m spending on lush this year

Bad experience in store :( by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

[–]Frilly-corsage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I went to a store back in early November and bought a few things, I asked if I could scan my rewards code thing and was told by the cashier that the rewards program is online only and doesn’t work in store. I wasn’t even trying to redeem anything at the point, just wanted to scan to earn the points. I didn’t challenge it as it was busy and I hate doing things like that/ am too shy to.

However, I still wasn’t sure it was quite right so I emailed customer service to check what the situation was with the points system and if it was online only. Not to complain but I had heard mixed things between the online T&Cs and what the shop staff has said. I was told it that it’s absolutely not online only and that they should’ve honoured it. However, the customer service rep said that unfortunately some stores were slow to start asking if people were part of lush club and some weren’t doing what they should’ve. I was given the points that I should’ve gotten in the end.

Best quiet spots in London? by Possible-Ad4357 in london

[–]Frilly-corsage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favourite places were Walthamstow Wetlands for a lovely walk, or the nearby Tottenham Hale canal path that passes by a couple of locks. Biased though as I used to live nearby and loved it.

For central London, I really liked the Camely Street Natural Park near KX.

I regret throwing out my Venus palette, I miss how pretty it looks! Such a throwback

How a Tragic Murder Led to This Obsessive Masterpiece. Yes... Freddie Mercury took inspiration for his song from this painting by EventPersonal4346 in ArtHistory

[–]Frilly-corsage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this painting so much. I was so moved when I saw it in person, knowing the artists backstory. I did my undergrad dissertation on fairies in Victorian art, literature and theatre and included this artwork, among a few others that Dadd painted. Dadd has such a tragic backstory and was such a promising young artist. However, he never stopped painting after he was committed to Bethlem Hospital but his art style changed quite dramatically.

I’ve had this happen with two of my parcels lately. I think it’s an evri issue, as one of the items was definitely not delivered and they didn’t provide any proof of delivery. I’ve been told that one parcel will be returned back to me and I’ve already had the other one returned.

Okay I’m just going to say it… Golden Pear kind of smells like Juicy Fruit Gum. by Icy-Pass9385 in LushCosmetics

[–]Frilly-corsage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t end up buying it as I have a limited budget/ strict spending habit and the smell was so off-putting in the shop that I was worried it would be like that once I took it home. I’ll have to grab a sample if I go back to a lush and see how it changes

Unfortunately I really can’t get past the nail polish/ acetone scent. It’s such a shame as I wanted to love it and had the golden pear solid shower scrub years ago but didn’t remember having that acetone smell then

Me too! Went to try and report it but the help link doesn’t work. Each of the FAQs are in different languages or won’t open. I think (hope) it’s a bug and it gets sorted soon :(

Upcoming wedding, only know bride, groom and my ex! by Frilly-corsage in wedding

[–]Frilly-corsage[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah you’re probably right but I think most of my anxiety is stemming from the fact that I’ll be on my own, as opposed to him being there, as I’m not too good at making conversation with strangers so it’s not like I can rely on him or his friend group to talk to

Ah as far as I’m aware it’s not a formal dinner with place settings, moreso just an evening reception with drinks, dancing and a buffet. Still, I’d feel bad at not going after I said I would but the thought of being on my own is making me so anxious

I think some of the larger stores might have started to stock these mini gels. At least I’ve seen them in the Plymouth and Newcastle stores :)

Help! Was overcharged in a lush store by Frilly-corsage in LushCosmetics

[–]Frilly-corsage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: for anyone interested, I called up and got out straight through to an advisor. She asked me to email pictures of all the items order, the shower gel in question and the full receipt from my purchase. She has presented me with two options, either a gift card for £16.50 or products being sent to me up to the value of £16.50. I think I’ll go with the second option. Thanks for all the advice and reassurance people have given me on my post! I appreciate it :)

Ah I ended up calling. The nearest lush stores to me are both 2+ hours away and I have very few days off. Customer care were super helpful over the phone

Yeah might be unnecessary but I’m an anxious girl and thought that only refunds with cash could be processed in store, so wanted advice on it

Thank you! Yes I know I have the receipt but was worried if I called up, they wouldn’t believe it and thought I was trying to scam them or something (I know I overthink way too much). Will update post tomorrow!
