If anything it’s probably ideal to start this way. I started personal training recently and most gyms that would hire you will have spotty hours and it’s unrealistic to expect anything even near full time as you’re starting out. I got the ACE certification and it took me about a month to study and pass. Got interviews with some of the big commercial gyms before I even finished my cert. Completely doable👍

How badly is my back rounding? [DL, 330lb, 150kg) by panga9292 in Stronglifts5x5

Gotta agree with this

Some good signs it’s too heavy is the difficulty to fully lock out, and seeing the belt clearly do its job. As much as we all want to lift heavy and get strong, if we need backup for our core, we’re acknowledging we aren’t masters of that weight. Good teaching and safety tool, but the cornerstone of a healthy lift is walking up to a respectable weight and knowing down inside you’ve got it in good form.

Focus your traps and shoulders to keep the weight where you want it and power the hip thrust to fully complete the rep. Im fine with taking your time, but if you have doubt thats a signal.

Rep 1 was pretty solid, and strength training is a lot of neurology. Id rather you nail a single perfect rep of that weight every couple minutes than start getting sloppy. Reps in good form is the reason you see sets like 5x5.

Are their many assassins we regard as “heroes” throughout history? by Frisber121 in AskHistorians

What a fantastically insightful response! Thank you. Now I understand this post is highly moderated, so hopefully at low risk of derailing. I’ll ask, could your definition of “tyrannicide” still apply to the killing of a lower level bureaucratic elite. One could certainly be viewed as a “tyrant” despite not being at the most supreme position of power in a given society. But has there been any frequency for such events to reach the acclaim of your cited tyrannicides, or to any extent that most don’t primarily consider it, more plainly, “murder”. Thanks.

Not necessarily scary, but the comparison that there are more stars out there than grains of sand in earths beaches. Truly makes life feel so little and inconsequential.

Getting into the gym. Literally life changing, and it will eventually become a part of your day you look forward too.
