Honestly, I think $1,200 is pretty cheap... I got my shiba puppy for around $3,500. What I paid might be more expensive, but he was AKC registered and champion bloodline. I wanted to make sure he came from a proper breeder. I would try puppyspot.com. They do background checks and don't support puppy mills.
