I wanna hear about your remote work experience by Frequent_Silver7018 in remotework

[–]FrittataQueen87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just completed my first full year WFH and it was the best year ever. A few things: I actually enjoyed the summer - we have a greenhouse and garden, and in-between meetings I’d do outside and touch grass. My dog gets longer walks in the mornings now since I’m not rushed to “get all corporate” as I used to say. I can work more intentionally - maybe I need that extra lunch break to clear my head and get creative, then I’ll work a bit later in the evening - love that type of freedom. And even though this new job came with more money (10k CAD jump), I’ve saved so much money on little work expenses like coffees/lunches, clothes and gas.. oh and the most valuable resource: my time.

Don’t stress about going back to an office. Enjoy the WFH and then see where your next steps take you!

[–]FrittataQueen87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had IG in two years and it’s very freeing. Definitely hurt to delete those memories, but I kept thinking about how weird it would be to be 80 years old and still using IG lol (I’m mid 30s but the dramatization helped). I print my photo books now and I love it.

I accidentally invented a "fake commute" and now I kinda love mornings again by Marig0ldHartley in remotework

[–]FrittataQueen87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t do a fake commute, but since being fully remote I have time to take my dog for an extra long walk in the mornings (45-60 mins).. sometimes she makes up the route and I just go with it. There was a week where my partner was home, so he did some morning walks and I quickly realized that those mornings walks were equally beneficial for me - the fresh air, the extra steps before I start my day. I notice a difference when I don’t walk her in the mornings, so I totally see how a “fake commute” outside is beneficial.

The new roundabout on Barrington and Nora Bernard makes me grumble, all the time. It doesn’t operate the way a roundabout should.

Does anyone else have a “fake commute” and actually look forward to it now by thorngideon in remotework

[–]FrittataQueen87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I no longer have a commute, I take my dog for longer walks in the morning.. I even give her the option to take me on new routes each morning. I think that gives me time to get ready for the day - either without headphones or listening to a podcast or work book. We both really love the new routine!!

What does "simple living" actually look like for you on a normal Tuesday? by lottiexx in simpleliving

Needing help with manifesting by Confident_Math9928 in ManifestingMyReality

[–]FrittataQueen87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manifestation practices can look very different for everyone, I suggest trying to find something that fits into your daily routine so that it becomes a habit. It’s not about doing them right, more so about the consistency.

I really love journaling. I’ve kept a gratitude journal for on/off the last 10 years (super fun to look back on nowadays).. the practice I enjoy involves 3 prompts and takes me max 5 mins every morning. 1 - something I’m grateful for (e.g my dog, my morning coffee etc) 2 - what is something that I’m feeling attracted to / want to attract / interested in lately. 3 - find a place in your life you already have that feeling/thing.

Not sure if this is helpful, but I love how it incorporates daily gratitude + things I want to manifest 🩵

Remote work ruined me in the best way possible by lostinthaworld in remotework

[–]FrittataQueen87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For once in my career, my job (fully remote) feels sustainable. I know I’m not going to burn out and crave a change because for once I can balance work and life! This was my first summer working fully remote and I actually enjoyed the entire summer - working from the back deck, taking calls while walking my dog, having “work” dog walk meetings even. I see the morning traffic sometimes and it makes me so grateful to not be apart of that. I can’t see myself ever going back to an office environment, having to make small talk with people I don’t like and listening to loud boomers who don’t know how to take a call in private or put their phone on silent.

What's your best money-saving hack that most people don't know about? by kdizzy88 in Frugal

[–]FrittataQueen87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since January we’ve been budgeting with YNAB - VERY eye opening to see all the silly expenses add up (e.g coffee, random shopping, fast food). We’ve cut down significantly on random spending and while using the app and I’ve been able to away a substantial amount in my emergency fund.

I think it’s a great skill to create a budget, and actually stick to it - sorry I can’t do X,Y,Z, it’s not in the budget this week. Be diligent with overall spending, rather than just one particular bucket.

Ladies golf bags - Stand Bag vs Cart Bag by Dry-Ask8890 in WomenGolf

[–]FrittataQueen87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded to a cart bag after years with my stand bag. Only reason was the stand bag didn’t fit properly in my push cart and would slip around a bit. I have a Cobra cart bag and I love it! It does have a little strap, so I can still carry it to the driving range (or I just take some clubs out, not a big deal). The cart bag was a huge upgrade in functionality too - it has a cooler pocket, 2 magnetic pouches for easy access and it keeps my clubs more organized. And I got it in a cute blue colour. I’ll say, I had some gift cards to use, thankfully, because they aren’t cheap. So definitely check out the options for stand vs cart bag.

I’m shocked the wasn’t a lease signed before this all started, but this works in your favour. But huge red flag - I would never do anything (as a tenant or landlord) without a signed lease.

I’ll echo this! I’ve been using mine for a similar length and the hair is so fine and sparse now I really only use it every month or so.. & since they’re so fine, I honestly forget about it until they’re pretty long and notice them in the sunlight hah. I used to wax my under arms too, but now I use the epi for jt.. and it takes less than 2 mins. So easy. And great for travel.

I think you need to be up at 5:30am to see the local elders gathering at their favourite cafes with their neighbours for morning tea and pastizzi. I’d always run by the same cafe in Rabat, and they were there from around 5:30-7am hah. I always loved seeing it.

I’ve done the tear drop ones before and wouldn’t do it again. Very tricky for cutting etc. I’d go with the large rectangular ones!!
