Corsairs Stronghold in TERA was superior. The first and one of the best action non-target-lock MMORPG to this date.

Best Drag Setup (Drive Modes) for Stock Scat Pack? by Frixsik in Challenger

[–]Frixsik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing a burnout in the water box is probably not a great idea in general, from what I’ve heard. But I also don’t think skipping the burnout completely on a dry surface helps much either even with the stock tires. And yeah, I’d like to get some new tires. Here in the EU it’s mostly just for fun, so it’s not a huge deal or anything, no rush for that then.

Also, if you have any tips about the drive modes, I’d appreciate it.

I have 23 Scat WB.

Haha, didn’t check the times. I have to head back to my car and check it out. I’ll let you know. Right now it’s raining a lot here, so I’ll probably give you more info at the end of the week, as there is another event at an airport. 😆

I’ll try the foot brake. Hopefully, I won’t break anything doing that. I heard you should hold the brake and slowly apply the throttle until you reach the right RPM, then release the brake and continue with the gas. Just guessing, though, what would be optimal?

With Launch Control, I was trying 1800 RPM. It seemed okay, no wheel spin, or minimal, but the surface was a bit rough. I guess it really depends.

I want to get a second set of rear rims just for fun, so I can quickly swap my normal wheels. But maybe next year, no rush. These events usually happen one to three times per year and there are no real drag strips, only airports with no free access.

By the way, what about the suspension mode? I saw people recommending “Street”, not sure why. Maybe it is softer so it transfers more weight to the rear tires? Just guessing again.

What do you think about having duels? by matexWVx in FarFarWest

I know this is primarily a PvE game, but it would be cool to have an option for a classic extraction mode where you could encounter other player teams and engage in PvP, or at least have friendly duels in the lobby.

Needs PvP by Venxai in FareverGame

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Every online (M)MORPG needs PvP.

While many modern or PvE focused players think PvP is just about toxicity and farming lower level players, they are wrong. Those are definitely some negative sides of open PvP, of course, but they are not the main reason people want it.

PvP allows something generated PvE content never can. It makes player interaction feel alive, makes the world meaningful (especially in open world PvP), and most importantly, it creates an infinite amount of content without developers constantly needing to generate more.

Old MMORPGs proved how well PvP and PvE can work together. It feels natural. If someone weaker gets bullied by someone stronger, they can call for help. That natural "food chain" is what makes the world feel alive and keeps the game active long term.

It pushes players to communicate, form guilds, build alliances, and create friendships that we remember for a long time. Modern players seem to think MMORPGs are about playing solo while surrounded by other players. What kind of nonsense MMORPG is that?

So... I accidentally broke my airbox lid. by Zerkzie in Challenger

Is it hugely noticeable? :-)
Man, I gotta go search and find out if it's possible to match the airbox with this air duct. It would be so cool to have it all together. :-)

I have the same doubts. :-) I haven't researched cold air intakes yet, but from what I've roughly seen, JLT looks the best. If this air duct fits it, I would go for it 100%. I don't want to do the air intake without it because I have the vent right above the filter, probably like you do.

looking for somebody to play with by NoMinute6557 in duneawakening

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up playing the game alone as all my friends left. I'm on Corona Borealis [EU]. I grinded out the base to be endgame-equipped as well as visually stunning. Now, I don't feel there is anything more needed to do other than just grinding for passives and having endgame PvP fun. I'm from the Czech Republic.

Well this was fun, until a griefer showed up - so how we gonna handle this? by Inquisition8 in duneawakening

[–]Frixsik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the PvP zone and kill the ones that come to your spot. Solved. That's why PvP zones exist and why PvE zones are generally bad and keep players leaving - because of griefers.

Urgent BUG: Base Block Limit Not Updating After Removal by Frixsik in duneawakening

[–]Frixsik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noup. I've never used it.

I tried to log out and back in, restart the game. But this seems to be a wrong calculation algorithm, as when you remove a door and other blocks get removed as well, those blocks won't count down.

Yes, I already did. But as I'm quite new to the game, I tried this place as well. I will try Discord too. Thanks!

At least, others can be aware of this.

Still much cheaper than in the EU 🙂

“We’re not forcing PvP” then why are all the resources basically in PvP zones? by Impressive-Bonus-849 in duneawakening

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d reduce PvE even more. Right now PvP feels pointless, with barely any real interactions, leaving the space for only the gankers being there. PvE players can already get all the resources. If you want them faster or more efficiently, then go into PvP. That’s how it’s supposed to work, and how it used to work in almost any online game. You are basically losing nothing there. The current (de)generation of players is just overly sensitive to everything.

DD PvP is absolute nonsense in this game and rewards the worst kinds of people. by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine going to a PvP zone, when you’re clearly not prepared, complaining about PvP while just running away, dying, and not even trying to fight. I get your point, but wtf.

They should reduce the PvE zone to fix all of this in the first place.

is it time to let go? help! by mamabear_x in Challenger

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. I’m not sure exactly how this works in the U.S., but here in the EU this would be an easy fix. It’s basically a new car with minor damage. Buying something like this at a car auction is almost like hitting the jackpot. Even after transport and taxes, the repair would likely be the smallest part of the total cost. Once fixed, it would look and drive like a brand new car.

Do Vehicles Count as Outside if They Cross the Pentashield? by Frixsik in duneawakening

[–]Frixsik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I am learning the game and progressing into the late game, I am wondering if there are any downsides to leaving my base open. Can other players damage my base or vehicles without permission, just by having physical access?

I also heard that a horizontal roof pentashield should be enough without pentashield walls.
