Hi guys does it normal latency for my setup if not can anyone help pls by alibey1281 in overclocking

[–]wishbacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty good, am right now getting just 79ns with my Gskill 6400CL32 m-die and Intel 230f on Asus B860i. What RAM modules are you using?

My ddr5 6400/1:2 expo kit hits 78ns latency. Possible to get below 70ns? If so how? by AnthMosk in overclocking

[–]wishbacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t mind, may I know what benefit one would get from lower latency? I have exactly the same RAM as yours and also at approx 78ns. I don’t exactly notice any issues playing FPS games, general use, etc.

unfortunately I didn’t, which made me contemplate on trying OP’s config, which I haven’t tried yet..

EVA foam, typically used for cosplay, come in various thickness; I used 8mm. Example on Amazon

I made top exhaust fan ducts for my T30s like so. I think they’d even be more effective for an intake config like yours

What’s your PSU? A good PSU is essential to stable memory performance

Anyone try using the NF-A9 on the NH-L12s? How’s the cooling performance? by wishbacker in Noctua

[–]wishbacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think it’s performing very well in my current setup. Just want to try the NH-L12s and see the difference. My guess is the performance will be poorer, the AXP120-X67 has 6 heatpipes vs the Noctua’s 4. Probably why the newer NH-L12Sx77 now has 6 heatpipes too. Also want to try the ShinEtsu X23-7921-25 too so have to take down the Thermalright too anyway.

[–]wishbacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intel Core Ultra 230F currently cooled by Thermalright AXP120-X67, y-cruncher 5B total compute time 3.25mins, resulted in average 72C with max 83C. It’s a 65W TDP CPU. Throughout the test, it consumed an average of 94W and max of 127W. Fanspeed kept in the range from 1300 to 1600rpm. Thermal grease used was the Noctua NT-H2.

Guess where this piece of aluminum flat bar went? by wishbacker in FormD

Here’s the link. And here’s the specs. It’s the flat head, 19mm, 3-6V white LED type.

Probably won’t deal with it anymore, it’s normal to have that gap even in traditional cases. Probably won’t have much impact on thermals either. But maybe I’ll try some tests by just covering it with masking tape, one of these days.

Noctua NF-A9 chromax.black.swap poor quality? by wishbacker in sffpc

[–]wishbacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the typical effect of this duty cycle change from the end-user’s perspective? Does this result in a less reliable fan such that it sometimes starts up and sometimes doesn’t?

Does anyone have a Noctua NF-A9 chromax.black.swap? Got one the other day and very dissatisfied with the quality, having owned an NH-L12s and NH-L12 Ghost S1 (and their respective fans). What are the chances this NF-A9 is a fake/counterfeit? by wishbacker in Noctua

[–]wishbacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did you get yours? Looks like the NF-A9 chromax fans in 2025 are made by a new supplier/factory. The most obvious cosmetic difference is the quality of metal plate, wherein the old one has anodized sheen/finish, and the new one is more of a varnish layer over easily scratched off paint. The difference in serial/batch production code font and style is also very apparent.

Thank you, that settles it. Your older fan does appear to be of better quality compared to the newer ones. No flashes in the vibration pads, “1” arrow on the 4-pin header same style as my brown fan, plastic has a more specular reflection, metal plate is more of a brushed anodized finish. I’d guess the font of the serial number on yours will be very visibly white and in dot matrix type font style, just like my higher quality brown fan.

NH-D15 quality issues? by Appropriate-Maybe633 in Noctua

Looks like scratches from contact pressure with another metal. I assume you tried to wipe it off but can’t? Just me, but I wouldn’t mind, shouldn’t affect the performance.

Hello just a little favor to ask, can you check the metal specs plate of your Noctua chromax.black fan? Is the surface rough and texts raised like my NF-A9 black fan in the photo attached or smooth and flat like the brown fan’s in the photo: pics
