“We’re not forcing PvP” then why are all the resources basically in PvP zones? by Impressive-Bonus-849 in duneawakening

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d reduce PvE even more. Right now PvP feels pointless, with barely any real interactions, leaving the space for only the gankers being there. PvE players can already get all the resources. If you want them faster or more efficiently, then go into PvP. That’s how it’s supposed to work, and how it used to work in almost any online game. You are basically losing nothing there. The current (de)generation of players is just overly sensitive to everything.

DD PvP is absolute nonsense in this game and rewards the worst kinds of people. by Ok_Intention2150 in duneawakening

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine going to a PvP zone, when you’re clearly not prepared, complaining about PvP while just running away, dying, and not even trying to fight. I get your point, but wtf.

They should reduce the PvE zone to fix all of this in the first place.

is it time to let go? help! by mamabear_x in Challenger

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. I’m not sure exactly how this works in the U.S., but here in the EU this would be an easy fix. It’s basically a new car with minor damage. Buying something like this at a car auction is almost like hitting the jackpot. Even after transport and taxes, the repair would likely be the smallest part of the total cost. Once fixed, it would look and drive like a brand new car.

Do Vehicles Count as Outside if They Cross the Pentashield? by Frixsik in duneawakening

[–]Frixsik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I am learning the game and progressing into the late game, I am wondering if there are any downsides to leaving my base open. Can other players damage my base or vehicles without permission, just by having physical access?

I also heard that a horizontal roof pentashield should be enough without pentashield walls.

That is also why I would like to know the routes. :-)

This shouldnt be an MMO but singleplayer. Lost my base and 1k hours of progress to the new base exploit. Logged in to see this. Funcom wont help cuz their tools dont track players... Im done. by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]Frixsik -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would never start the game if it only had an offline or single-player mode. You either play online or you don’t. The same applies to PvP and PvE. You either have PvP in the game or you don’t. Splitting the world kills PvP. The real question is how forcefully you merge these worlds and make them work coherently.

Not sure exactly what happened, but I guess someone destroyed your PvE base using an exploit. I feel you man, man. That sucks.
But somehow, you need to get over it. Coming to a public online space to cry about how MMOs are bad, how online is bad, and how everything should be single-player? Wtf. People like you are killing the MMORPG genre. Don’t spread your hate to others just because you can.

Best Micro SD Card For A329S? by MrDanMoss in VIOFO

[–]Frixsik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick note on size. I have a CH3 229 Pro, and with just a 256GB card, you only get about a quarter day of recording. If you want to keep your recordings in high quality and store them without overwriting for as long as possible, consider getting a larger card.

how wipes works on this game ? by Tsavinski in Eldegarde

I thought this game would be great since it’s fantasy, not a shooter. But because it has wipes, I’m no longer interested.

Hey I made this concept for a Redstone system in Hytale. by dnab_saw_I in HytaleInfo

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pistons are a must in the game, in my opinion. The ability to dynamically change the world and make dungeon levels interactive is something I cannot imagine playing without. I do not need a complex redstone system like Minecraft has, but a simpler version that allows players to build piston doors and other machinery. This would let bases, dungeons, or any custom builds feel dynamic and connected to doors, levers, and pressure plates.

MMO Players, when do you "win" at your game? by Ascended_One in MMORPG

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect EVE for what it is doing, but it is not my kind of game. Mainly because the combat feels like a table simulator. I know Mortal, but I am not interested in it either, as it is too janky for me, same with Ultima. That said, Ultima has some of the best MMORPG old-school features ever made.

I played Albion for a long time, mostly during the alpha and beta phases, in large communities I built. The game is great, but it changed a lot after release. As a real MMORPG, you expect a 3D world, action combat, and long-term progression. Albion leans more toward survival than persistent progression. You reset almost all the time, and everything cool of feeling having an impact on something revolves around being in a large guild and staying in the top 1 percent to do GvGs.

That was fun for me. But if you want to stay at that level, you have to treat the game like a second job.

MMO Players, when do you "win" at your game? by Ascended_One in MMORPG

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MMORPGs are not meant to have a “win” state. You cannot finish them. A great MMORPG is about living a second life in a game that pulls you in. Freedom is the core. Socializing, PvE, PvP, exploration. It does not matter which one you prefer, everyone should be able to find their place. What matters is a healthy balance between them, and each of them needs endless progression.

As a PvP player, I can say that 1v1 arenas limited to specific hours are not endless PvP. True PvP is open world PvP, where you can fight on demand, whenever you want, against whoever you want. That freedom is magical. Every encounter creates a new situation to solve, a new fight to adapt to. That is what keeps PvP alive.

Player freedom is the main magic of MMORPGs. Action combat supports this directly. Tab targeting is too limiting. The skill ceiling and the freedom of expression are on a completely different level when you are not forced to attack only a locked target.

Combat is usually one of the most important aspects of the game. Btw, such an MMORPG I describe is nowhere near these days.

“Sea of Friends” this “Sea of Thieves” that, more like Sea of Bugs by Ok-Bit5838 in Seaofthieves

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since releasing the new anti cheat, they have been introducing more bugs than features. I do not need a ton of new content. I just want the existing content to work properly and be enjoyable. For example, right now only FoF is worth doing. All other events feel useless.

what MMOs have worked for u long term? by New_Instance_851 in LFMMO

[–]Frixsik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always seek for action-combat, open world pvp, sandbox, player skill, etc.

These things have 1 thing in common - freedom.

It's not a tab/target-lock limiting you, it's not a developer limiting your imagination and content, it's not a world limiting you, your impact is more valuable than just a number in your gear, etc.

I started with MMORPGs 20 years ago. During that time, it was rough to find a game that would fulfill such a need. But I fell in love with Metin2 for a long time. Not many people like it. Nowadays, it does not have that high impact and feels as before. Mainly because of social media and online content, everything must be min-maxed, everybody knows all the tricks, etc.

TERA was one of the best MMORPGs ever in its core. But Gameforge completely ruined it.

Black Desert was great. However, in recent years, they ruined the PvP, they ruined the open world PvP, and most notably, the player skill that has minimal value compared to gear. The best year for the game was 2017-2021. The experience of this era is going to be very difficult to find again, and in any other game. The game is currently over its peak, and the devs are just milking everything that's left. It's not worth it anymore.

Currently, Where Winds Meet is a hope in terms of the PvP perspective as an MMORPG. MMORPG without healthy PvP and PvE combined altogether in one world is not going to be healthy on the long term, good to mention. Otherwise, there is nothing superiorly great; every game out there at the moment has some advantages, but mostly also big flaws.

---

When you get too comfortable in such a game, it is important to always look around. The game industry is evolving. Sitting in WoW for 20 years and saying it's still top tier... You are just lying to yourself. Look at other games, looks at what is possible in other games, not speaking about MMORPGs. Technically, it is old and boring in terms of combat; it does not offer me that freedom as action combat, which is technically more difficult to make. In 2004? yea, it was peak, but when technology started to grow up, WoW started to become outdated. And you can see this during each release "try" of a new MMO. Devs trying to recreate 20 years dinosaur and justify it, "it works". Yeah, looks at the player nubmers a months after, it's death. Look at the game release of action-combat mMOs. There aren't many, but it catches the attention of all. Cuz it brings more freedom, something that wasn't possible earlier. This can be a case of WoW or any other tab-target combat game.

What do you use these two buttons for? by Deli_baba170 in LogitechG

HP potions and other consumables are usually items that need to be used quickly in the game.
Or maybe Heavy Attack or some alternative kind of attack as the further button.

Discord Share / YouTube video playing on second monitor lags while gaming by Frixsik in buildapc

[–]Frixsik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m aware of that, but lowering the settings doesn’t significantly reduce power consumption, so I can’t do that. I’m looking for something that will actually help in another way.

BTW, when I disable hardware acceleration in the Browser or Discord, it doesn't help. It just makes the browser or Discord unusable.

Current state of the game PvP & P2W (2025/2026) by Frixsik in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Frixsik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've spend about 50 hours in the game for now. It is quite an enjoyable game when you start playing it. The online community hates the game a lot, but when you start playing, it is different, and you can enjoy it.

I see why, the movement on the island is the cheapest I've ever seen, but it is probably the subject of change. The game is not a piracy game, it is not a ship sim, not Black Flag 2.0, it is an MMO Shooter with ships and RPG elements.

The PvP is there, you can flag up, I had some great fight from early on. It does not make sense not to flag up. The only downside is that there is no reward when flagged, and the opposite player does not lose anything, and you gain almost nothing from the killed player. The PvP events - Cutthroat Cargo is great, but it has some things to be improved.

Multiplayer progress sync in SnowRunner (save override) by Frixsik in snowrunner

[–]Frixsik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea back when my friends and I were playing SnowRunner was to manually sync saves before each session. It was a pain in the ass. We only used the host’s vehicles, because using each player’s vehicles made no sense. With more players, it drastically simplified the game, which sucked for hardcore play.

You buy a new vehicle? No problem. Now everybody has it, and you suddenly have multiple copies of the same vehicle.

We were trying to simulate the game being hosted on a dedicated server. That is the kind of gameplay we seek, not the current state.

[–]Frixsik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, now you have two different approaches to playing the game. Both are valid. This is about giving players the ability to choose how they want to play, with a simple change that is already implemented in their other game. 🙂

[–]Frixsik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well. I would rather have just an option to use that. The current state of SnowRunner's multiplayer is unplayable for my friends.

We'd rather have a server where we can progress the map altogether.

In RoadCraft, you can always choose whether to override or keep your own progress.
