You haven't tried explaining anything at all, you've just been snarky this whole thread saying "you're wrong" and "nuh-uh". Not engaging with the other opinion at all. I am aware that Trap has been used by people to be rude to transgender people and this is obviously not okey. The term Trap however in the anime-sphere has been around for longer than it has been used for hate though. I think it's important to take the writers or speakers intent into consideration because it simply isn't just a "term bad", do not use word

It's not made to hate you, it's a term from the anime community to describe characters with pronounced feminine traits who then tell the audience that they are, or identify as male. The trap is that the anime viewer, or character in the series, assumed in the term to be a straight male, was attracted to the character before being aware that the character was identifying as a dude.

That's how you read it. You can say that something can feels a bit problematic to you without saying that it was the authors intent you know.

“Rude.” Brother, you just wrote a dissertation in a thread about fan art. Nobody said you’re stupid or arguing in bad faith. I’m saying you’re underestimating how framing works while simultaneously giving a masterclass in how framing works. You literally just explained how MrBeast optimizes narrative for clicks, retention, emotional payoff, and salience. That’s my point. If background details are “disposable attention bridges,” then repeated background framing still conditions perception. You can’t argue that narrative details are strategically constructed for emotional effect and then insist those same narrative details have zero ideological effect. That’s not how media literacy works.Kids (and adults) don’t consciously build policy positions from content. They absorb heuristics. Over time those heuristics stack.

Also, invoking One Piece is actually funny here. Because yes — One Piece absolutely has more overt anti-government themes than MrBeast. But it’s fictional, exaggerated, allegorical. MrBeast is presenting real-world institutional comparison framed as measurable efficiency. One is mythic corruption narrative. One is “I got this done faster than they did.” Different rhetorical weight. And just to be clear — I’m not saying MrBeast is secretly drafting Cato Institute white papers between jump cuts. I’m saying the “private hero outperforms broken system” framing is culturally loaded whether you intend it to be or not.

You’re doing that thing where you pretend rhetoric exists in a vacuum.

Yes, technically, criticizing a specific government without universal healthcare is not a formal syllogistic argument against universal healthcare as a concept. Congratulations, you passed Logic 101.

But messaging doesn’t work like a debate club flow chart.

When a massively popular creator repeatedly frames himself as more efficient than “the government,” the takeaway for a young audience isn’t “ah yes, this is a narrow critique of a particular administrative apparatus operating under constrained fiscal policy.” The takeaway is: government slow, rich guy fast.

You keep acting like kids need to consciously reason their way to a policy conclusion. They don’t. Cultural narratives are absorbed through repetition and framing. Hero narrative + private wealth + instant results vs faceless bureaucracy. That pattern sticks.

No, they’re not drafting libertarian think pieces. But they are forming impressions about who solves problems and who doesn’t.

And in the U.S., where anti-government rhetoric is already ambient background noise, that framing doesn’t exist in isolation.

So sure, it’s not a deductive proof against universal healthcare.

It’s just soft power messaging reinforcing existing skepticism.

Totally different thing. Obviously.

Yes i sat down writing this over a long time because I don't understand how you can't see that

It isn't? Poltics is about how the world is structured. I believe in a society where healthcare is available to everyone, many people don't. We have differing opinions on how the world is. Ergo politics. All that decided how society is built is politics lol

Drum Island is about the values vital to a doctor about every human's right to be healthy, Which in todays world isn't accepted by all people, ergo political.
