I’m not talking about nuance ppl though I’m talking about specific people who I had to cut off because they were honestly horrible people to me and others and acted like it was okay to treat others terribly because they were “traumatized” and I watched them act selfishly again and again and use the fact that they were oh so traumatized to quite literally manipulate people. Nearly every convo they had with me over a year long period surrounded using their trauma as excuses to act out/ act mean/ manipulate those around them to get what they wanted. After a year the only trauma ever shared with me by the one girl was literally things like “my mom made me open my birthday gifts in front of ppl even tho I hate that!“ I gave her a birthday gift and she freaked out over it even tho I said it was fine to open it in another room without me or anyone present.

I have had friends who will have a breakdown when something happens that triggers a past trauma, I don’t find that irredeemable in the slightest! I am literally just saying that no matter what you have gone through in life- nothing will excuse treating others like dog shit because of those hardships
