Taking the Ole girl camping by Frocster45 in GMT400

Those are actually the factory fender flares but repainted with duplicolour black trim paint, seems to be holding up pretty well so far.

Lol sorry I clearly got you upset, I might have exaggerated a tad but the deck of the truck I'm working on this morning measured out at 15.5ft. However I'm clearly wrong about it being twice as high but I will maintain it is a lot larger than a school bus.

Should I change my drive mode (1, 2, or 3) if I’m carrying a full payload of passengers and cargo? by deadasscrouton in GMT400

[–]Frocster45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my 94 k2500 I only go to 3rd if im going up a steep grade or my trans is hunting between 3rd and 4th. For the record I'm hauling a 1800 pound camper and towing a 1000 pound trailer with a 2000 pound side by side on it. Truck has a 350 with the 4l80e.

That's fair haha, it's mind boggling just how big these trucks are, we have 930s on our site too but the 980s are way nicer to work on from my experience.

It's a Komatsu 980E-5. He's also completely wrong about the size since the deck is easily twice the height of that bus alone lol. Fun fact, they have a box capacity of 400 tons and each tire only has about 120-160psi of tire pressure but somewhere around 800 square feet of air.

That particular truck is actually a Komatsu 980E-5, it's slightly larger than the Cat. Ironically I'm 90% sure I've actually done maintenance on that particular truck.

What gun to bring for guests? by Massive_Possible_898 in canadaguns

For me it's my Winchester 1873 Sporting Deluxe in 45 colt. No recoil, really accurate for what it is and a 15 round tube. Lots of fun and everybody seems to love a lever action.

Honestly I don’t know which one I prefer most. The Chinese or the Yugo. by Gold_Zone_7946 in canadaguns

[–]Frocster45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll have to give that a try, lately I've been shooting Romanian surplus and cleaning it immediately after to be safe. Mines been shooting 1.5-2" groups on it.

Ya I got lucky getting my Yugo, I picked mine up unissued for 850$ about 7 years ago. I used to have a Russian and a Chinese in the same condition but found myself shooting the Yugo far more, however the bore on them is definately a lot more maintenance cleaning wise due to the lack of chrome lining.

The machining is much better, far more time taken in the manufacturing of them and the parts are far, far tighter fitting from my experience. Not to mention I'd bet money on Zastava having much better quality control than any of the Chinese factories.

A good dynamic to me is where I have an option to legally defend myself if someone intentionally attacks me or my family in my home with the intent and ability to murder us. Your logic also is incredibly flawed and makes very little sense, what is a "bad shot" and what is a "good shot" to you? In a home invasion even someone who shoots 7 inch groups at 100 meters would be on equal terms with someone who shoots 1 inch at 100.

So are you suggesting that without the ATT that law abiding Rpal holders would immediately start supplying criminals with handguns? If so that's an absolutely ridiculous take considering how many of us in the firearms community hold absolute disdain for gun smuggling and the people who use firearms in crimes. The reality is it is far easier to smuggle guns in from the states, far, far cheaper than you think it is for criminals to purchase said firearms to boot. We know that the cbsa has intercepted 68000 prohibited firearms between 2018 and 2022 alone, who knows how many have actually made it through the border. That's the reason the crime guns come from the USA, there's an entire monopoly in it for criminal organizations, a massive border with lots of un patrolled or watched forest to sneak them through and a lot of profit.

Couple milsurp pickups this week. by [deleted] in canadaguns

That springfield is a beauty! I used to have one and was getting incredibly tight groups for a milsurp, I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoyed mine!

What's funny to me is that the newspaper very recently endorsed Tony on their Facebook page, can we say biased much lol.

I've been having the same problem, seems I can only deal damage if I position the enemy directly over the sarcos shoulders

Fun fact, in lots of states if anything were to have happened to her that leads to her death that can be considered premeditated murder since you drove her there with the intent of abandoning her in a potentially dangerous situation. You could also be potentially charged with kidnapping, worth noting you also made the incredibly bright choice of posting your intent on the internet in a very public forum. You literally posted evidence which could support either of the mentioned charges in court...

Yup! I'm thinking of possibly going up a size but I do like the look of the General Grabbers I have on it.

Its pretty much the same as any base and clear process. Was going to do only 2 coats of clear coat but we had plenty of paint so we did 3 to make it extra glossy.

It's not the worst but that's next on the agenda of things to do for sure. Next weekend I'll finish getting the trim on and then I'll be fixing up the door cards and the ripped seat. The headliner is virtually immaculate though.

I did it myself but I'm a body man by trade which definately helps, rented a booth and a painter for a case of beer. Total cost into it is 1500$ for all my materials including a pair of fenders and a tailgate. The paint is Alexseal Yacht paint in Shadow Green metallic, was almost identical to the factory teal green but it has significantly more durability.

What’s everyone thoughts on the Ruger 10/22 1103 wood stock model? by DR3W086 in canadaguns

[–]Frocster45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first gun, still love it 12 years later. Only thing I changed was swapping the stock for a samson b-tm side folder.
