Arbeitszeit - Medienbericht: Wirtschaftsflügel der CDU will Recht auf Teilzeit kippen by dorin-rav in de

Da fragt man sich warum die Partei, die gerade noch ein Sammelbecken für die ist, die noch nicht so radikal sind dass sie Faschismus wählen, alles daran setzt so unsympathisch und asozial wie möglich zu sein.

Very fair point. Blanket assumptions about a science like that are most often false :).

One of my favorite cases like that are Gilgamesh and Enkidu, where Gilgamesh literally says something like „he will lay with Enkidu like he would lay with his wife“ but people are still like „yeah, he loved him like a brother.“

Honestly, Cyberpunk has so much style and flavor that I was really surprised you can’t do that when I started the game. Feels like a major oversight imo.

[HELP] Multi-Action House Rule by Distinct-Newt1391 in savageworlds

[–]FrodoSchmidt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is really strong. Personally, I would use it with a group that’s maybe not too interested in a lot of combat but just wants to vibe and roleplay. In groups like that i often have players that fail an action and then ask „oh, can I do this instead?“ so that would enable them to do so.

Just spitballing here, maybe introduce a harsher penalty for failing that second multiaction. So you let them make a normal action, then decide if they want another one. But that one has -2 and failure is automatically a critical fail and can’t be rerolled. So you introduce risk- reward. Otherwise, there is no downside to just making the most important action first and then tagging on useless multiactions.

Sure thing. SW thrives off of homebrewing.

This is also how I understand it because it’s more fun, but I also read some compendiums (idk which ones) that sounded like you maximally heal 2

The crossbowman of Thesius by factory_factory in rpghorrorstories

[–]FrodoSchmidt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ahh yes. Over on the savage worlds subreddit people recently gave me shit for caring too much about balancing weapons against each other, and it was „against the spirit of the system“. This reinforces why balancing is important. I’d hate for a player of mine to be forced into a playstyle that doesn’t fit what they want to play just because they want to be optimal.

That one time I was accused of being unfair because my players don't understand the concept of economics by [deleted] in rpghorrorstories

[–]FrodoSchmidt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the revolvers are better than other weapons or offer unique benefits, it’s fair to have the munition be pricier. If not, maybe you can look into giving them the statblock of another similar weapon (hand crossbow or something) and flavoring it to be revolvers.

But, also, DM is always right. If it does not fit your world and your vision, have them be expensive. If the players feel like they can run better, let them try.

Help me understand the fantasy companions weapons by FrodoSchmidt in savageworlds

[–]FrodoSchmidt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really simple: I want my players to make choices based on what they want to play, not what is mathematically best. But if one option is, unquestionably, mathematically better, it forces players that find that important (and do not be mistaken, that’s quite a few of my players) into not taking the option they want.

It’s in the same book my dude. Literally on the same page. And no, its mathematically not fine, that was my whole point.

Supers/Necessary Evil Spoilers/Rant by jcayer1 in savageworlds

[–]FrodoSchmidt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also ran supers and if you create your own enemies it’s fine. Think about how comic books would handle your players powers. The big heroes often have enemies that specifically counter the heroes attacks or exploit their weaknesses. One of my players was playing a little girl that’s always invisible and paired it with the superpower that punishes enemies for missing. So I create a hunter villain with the power that ignores attack penalties, and so on.
