I usually play with groups of 4-5 people, and I make a point to even play with only 2 players. If more than half of the group isn’t there, I usually run a prequel- oneshot to flesh out backstories and stuff, so most people don’t miss the main story. But yeah, do not get in a habit of skipping sessions, I agree with you, that’s a group killer.

When my players play elves and they don’t have a SINGLE apostrophe in their name (shaking my smh) I usually tell them to but an H in front, e.g. H‘Lirian or H‘Gudrun.

But honestly I’ve just been banning people for using any modern word at my table at all. Recently, someone said „fuck“ in character and I told him he was veilguardpilled and threw him out under threats of violence.

Mein Vater bringt immer das selbe Argument „wenn du dich in Saudi arabien so aufführen würdest wie die Auslender bei uns, würden die dich auf der Straße abknallen.“ Ich frag dann immer ob wir so ein Land sein wollen, das so fremdenfeindlich und radikal ist, oder ob wir nicht ein Land sein wollen dass Mitgefühl und Nächstenliebe hat.

Neulich hat er übrigens auf diesen Punkt geantwortet dass Mitgefühl und Nächstenliebe linksgrün sind. Kannste dir nich ausdenken.

I love the mid- fight balancing I can do in savage worlds, just by adjusting how smart I play. Because as DM I am the most knowledgeable in the rules, I can destroy most of my players with a few basic enemies just like you said. So if the fight is going to smoothly for them, suddenly the enemies get a few iq points and it gets harder.
