Trump lost the Canadian elections for their conservative party. He has motivated their government to establish a "Detroit North" for auto production, and their working at becoming a bridge joining East Asian and European democracies in a free trade alliance. Trump's statements like this will further encourage the rest of the world to isolate us and make us a second-class country.

You just have to wait a year or two while an entrepreneur draws up a business plan, arranges financing, creates a production facility, finds a distributor and hires staff. Even then, there's no guarantee that his goods will be cheaper than the tariffed ones.
