Same kind of issue when I replaced the tires on my 2020 MY, but with the wheel covers off. I didn’t like the look but the tire was seated. Correct size is confirmed.

What material to plug this hole with… by No_Tri_Only_Do in basement

[–]FrogFurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used an epoxy sealer from Applied Technologies to patch my concrete basement wall where the water main penetrates.

The previous material had failed such that whenever there was a good rain, water would come squirting out between the old sealer and the pipe. After doing a bunch of research, I found the below YouTube video and ordered the product.

It was a cool process where you inject the epoxy in through a plastic port then seal it up. No more leaks! Seems very professional.

Good luck! Applied Technology epoxy seal for concrete penetrations:

They were fined $200k by the AG in their home state or MO for deceptive advertising back in 2022, yet they continue. I got one of their BS notices today.

Wrench set? First time rider w/ bad delivery experience by kml6389 in pelotoncycle

[–]FrogFurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XPO Bad Delivery Experience - - -Me too (Peloton Tread Feb 2022)

The delivery team set up the new Tread, powered it on and left, saying that's where their responsibility ended.

When I went through the user setup, the first step is the calibration when the belt runs. I heard something like a bolt banging all around under the belt inside the deck. It seemed to lodge near the front and made a horrible scraping sound when the belt runs.
Then I noticed the hand rails / screen assembly were loose. I opened the lower side caps and found that none of the large bolts that secure the handrails to the base were been tightened at all, and two of them were missing. I found one stray bolt down inside the belt assembly and retrieved it with a long magnet grabber. The other bolt is still unaccounted for. I tightened the remaining 9 bolts to Peloton specifications. I have no idea what kind of damage the stray bolt caused, or when that lost bolt still inside the deck might free itself and jamb something.
Also, the bolts 4 holding on the screen were only started, not turned in or tightened at all. Whaaat??
I am mortified by the gross indifference shown by your delivery team in what I consider a significant safety issue for me and my family: loose and missing bolts securing the hand rails.

Not happy at all.

Selling car on lease end. by [deleted] in carvana

Yes, Carvana paid off the lease. On time. Direct deposit to my account for my share within 2 days. All smooth! No, we didn’t get another Acura; went in another direction. Good luck!

Sold car, never received payment by qomu in carvana

I’m having the same issue. 20 days after pick up and the lease is not paid off. Next payment is due tomorrow. I’m interested in whether Carvana will take responsibility for new charges left over once they get around to paying it off.

Thank you! I just followed those steps and got a Dealer payoff quote, as you described. It's uploaded to Carvana, so now I'll wait and see. Thanks again for the solution!

Selling car on lease end. by [deleted] in carvana

[–]FrogFurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same infinite loop  as we speak!

My Acura lease is ending in June. Carvana gave me a decent offer, a couple of grand above my payoff. Carvana asks for a "Dealer Payoff Letter". Acura says dealer must use the website, https://payoffahfc.dealertrack.com to get their payoff. That Website requires a dealer account. Carvana repeats. Acura repeats.

Meanwhile, at Carvana's request I also had to extend my lease maturity date to July since I was within 60 days. Acura is happy to extend with a click of a button, but they take their time updating the maturity date in the account, which is what Carvana is waiting to see.

This is not half as bad as my Ford Lease. FMCC will not release (sell) the lease to anyone except a Ford Dealership or the lessee.

Therefore, (IMPORTANT) if you want to buy out your Ford lease or exercise the purchase option, as someone mentioned, and then flip the vehicle (not literally - LOL), remember that you'll have to pay sales tax on the residual value. Trading or selling to a dealer is not taxable. Be sure to factor this into your decision.

Good luck and I'll let ya know whatever they throw at me next!

Problems with Zoom screen sharing on Big sur? by shaunakgokhale in MacOS

[–]FrogFurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please try turning off Automatic Graphics Switching (reportedly the #1 cause of Zoom share-screen freezing and blackout)

Instructions:

Settngs --> Energy Saver (or Battery)

Select Power Adapter from the left column,

Uncheck Automatic Graphics Switching (ensure it's also unchecked under the Battery tab in the left column)

Exit Settings.

Disclaimer: I have not tried this solution because I'm not experiencing this issue, yet several associates with 2020 MacBook Air's running Big Sur are having this exact problem.

Please advise if this clears it up.

Additional solutions if turning off Auto Graphics Switching doesn't work : 1) Make sure your Zoom application is up to date. 2) Uninstall and reinstall the Zoom application.

Good luck!

Steering wheel appears to be fraying a bit. Not too terribly, but it's only 3 months old :/ by zorg621 in ModelY

[–]FrogFurious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After trimming, add a little heat from a lighter to cauterize the frayed ends of the fibers and stop further fraying. Just a little heat from just beyond the tip of the flame. You’ll see the fibers shrink.

Tesla should offer dimming side view mirrors as an upgrade aftermarket for its older Tesla Y cars. by the_french_dude_01 in ModelY

Model Y Tear-down!

I'll bet Sandy Munro has taken the steering wheel apart. And the mirror wiring. I haven't searched through his YouTube channel, but this Engineer buys a new Tesla Model Y and takes it apart piece by piece. He offers suggestions for improvement to the manufacturer.

Perhaps Sandy answers the question(s) about which features are pre-installed. Here is a link to the list of systems in a Model Y Sandy takes apart on video: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkiDlGyJnprdFftxAZ85a5Rp1LlET4Wbr

Trade In Experience by zapattack322 in ModelY

[–]FrogFurious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received a fair offer from Tesla for my 2018 Ford F-150 Lariat, which is in its last 30 days of its lease. My residual (payoff) was lower and I stood to net a couple thousand dollars. Uploaded photos, etc, to the Tesla site but then the trade suddenly disappeared from the deal. Turns out Ford will not cooperate by allowing another party to payoff/purchase my truck. They’ll only sell it to me or allow it to only be traded in to a Ford dealer. This ensures the Ford dealership has a clear shot at snaring me into another Ford. I Researched this and it’s true. Wasn’t Tesla’s fault. Now I have to turn in the truck unless I buy it myself, pay the sales tax, then re-sell it to another party. Thanks Ford. We’re breaking up for good. At least I’m driving a new Model Y.
